I have more conversations about the Bronco Sport than the Bronco

My father had a Marauder. Dark blue, you didn’t see many in that color. He sold it because he said it was too “slow” and didn’t like the different wheel sizes. His daily driver was a 99 Lightning. He had a need for speed!

All the time. EVERYONE thinks the sport is the new bronco except for the car aficionados and they are quite rare.

My childhood friend’s dad, who I now consider my friend, is a retired Ford service manager. Huge car guy, dragged raced most of just life, his family used to own a local Ford dealership, he has owned over 60 classic Mustangs, and hundreds of other vehicles…so I would say a car aficionado. When I told him I was getting a Bronco he was like….”What?! You’ll never fit.” (I am 6-3, 300lbs). I had to explain to him the difference and he was still skeptical.

But yea the average person is even worse and understanding the difference. I have had to explain to countless people.

Lol!! When we first saw the Sport we were definitely confused. Had to keep looking online. Then a Big Bend White Bronco was at our local Dealership. And sparked our interest. Needless to say the Sports are nice. But when Ford made the return of the Bronco. Marketing the Sport first was definitely a mind blower for some of us expecting a Big Beefy looking Bronco!!! IMO

It really doesn’t look like a Mustang. What were they thinking?!?! Mom wants a SUV that might resemble a Mustang?!?! No way!!!! Horrible idea. IMO

When I have discussed it to friends/family (as I await mine that is just going into production) the quick version I always use is The Bronco is a full size body on frame truck (ranger platform), and the Bronco Sport is a unibody crossover (escape platform). This clears everything up pretty quickly for those that I talk to but I agree, it's a totally different vehicle so it is kind of weird they share the same name. It's a perfectly fine vehicle and quite capable for it's class but they are definitely not the same.

Used to live in Morgantown NC for 10 years but now I’m back in Youngstown. There is a bunch of sports and big Broncos in my area.

If you're interested in meetups and bronco networking, there is an Ohio club you could join on this page. I'm just north of YO.

I've had to explain to several people there's 3 Broncos, the sport is a beefy escape then there's the two door and four door are Wrangler sized.

That usually clears everything up pretty quick.
