Any idea if this material will get super hot in summer sun? Or is it somewhat breathable?

That's my only worry. Hard to have a convertible in summer sun with black, smooth, plasticky seating.
Black vinyl (or leather) + topless + summer sun = scorched butt upon entry.

If you haven't seen them already, here are a couple pics of the marine grade interior:

All thatā€™s missing is the heated seat buttons.

The vinyl/rubber is intriguing. Being in the south im a little worried about burning my ass when i sit down to drive home everyday but i like the rubber flooring. I was going to spend a ton on all weather mats anyway

The washout capability is my primary reason for getting a Black Diamond. Much moreso than the off roading updgrades.
I had the same thought but recently realized Iā€™m not paying 5k for pleather and rubber floors so switching to base. Hoping somehow ford or aftermarket will have an answer.

the vinyl seats are a big selling point for me.... if that becomes and option in other trims I will probably downgrade as the trim I have has things I do not need/want and does not have things I want aesthetically.
And this is probably why they won't offer many items on lower trim.....

Even if a trim only comes with carpet, it will eventually be possible to order the rubber floor from the parts department or maybe a repair shop.

The only question then will be how hard is it to disassemble the interior to do the replacement yourself.
Or how many work hours are required to pay a repair shop to do it.

If they do offer that option for white would definitely make it better for the summer. Not great but definitely better than the black vinyl.

another route is get the BD/BL and maybe add a cloth seat cover when needed. A Bronco with carpet seems like it should be an option lol

I could have swore that someone sad that they will all have the same floors and youā€™d have to remove the carpet and take out the permanent plug for a removable one. One question is what will the finish on the floor under the carpet look like?

I reserved a Badlands 2 door and I'm pretty pumped about the washout floors. Plan on just having some good slush mats down there on top of it and never worrying about what me (or my dogs) are tracking into the floor.

As far as the vinyl seats go, I will likely stick with that too, but will see what the leather options are (and if I can upgrade to leather seats while keeping the rubber floors of course). Agreed that the black vinyl might be hot if you're out on the beach, but the white vinyl always makes me worry that a few months of driving on it while wearing blue jeans means it's then "white with blue stains on it" interior. lol. Had that happen on a two tone interior in the past.

I hope they split the difference and offer gray vinyl!

The washout interior took me to Black Diamond. I probably could have handled a Base model with Sasquatch, but as a Jeep Wrangler owner that ripped out all the carpet back in the day, I like my vehicles that can go topless to be able to handle a rain shower without soggy carpet.
