They also took an accessory cap. Cheap part from Ford at $32.
Yep. $32 unpainted. Mine's being painted right now... for much more than that.

First time I ever had a vehicle broken into. Insult to injury is that I only had it for 3 days.

It sucks, but at least the truck was so new that nothing of value was inside, or so I thought. I realized this morning that there was something in it other than my registration, the tool kit.

That's pretty upsetting. Anyone have a part number? TIA.

They also took an accessory cap. Cheap part from Ford at $32. I guess I've never had anything nice enough for someone to be jealous of.

Sorry to see this, did they open the doors? If so did the Ford App. alert you ?

Just heard back from my local Ford Parts dealer, he says the toolkit is only $55, but backordered.

I wonder if it will have the bronco branding like the original.
I would look for it on ebay in your area...they should be fairly rare, and you just might find the little bitc* that stole it...if he has an accessory cap for sale too

How much did the painting cost you?

No, they smashed the glass and must have been smart enough to pull themselves in. They used an old hobo blanket to protect themselves from the glass.

Terrible to hear that.
On the bright side, Cambridge and Boston are fantastic cities. The bars and restaurants in Cambridge are amazing. Winter is probably a little rough, but man October is beautiful. I am heading to Cambridge in May for a concert and to just troll the City.
Watch out for the murder hobos

This sucks man. I'm sorry to see it.

But this is a good time to remind everyone here to invest in a solid anti-theft device, like the Trunk Monkey. Really makes a huge difference.

TBH, could have happened to anyone. good thing is that you didn't have anything important inside that could have been sentimental or expensive.

Did they take your registration? Did it have your address on it? Hope insurance will cover the cost of the damage.

Sorry that happened to you....hope you have something to drive while you wait on the glass replacement. If not, maybe some cut/taped plexiglass or plastic sheeting. That would at least help with the cold...

And no politics? we all know low-lifes come in all political persuasions....

Safelite covered it very nicely until the glass comes in. It's not water tight but it's decent (just got 6 inches of snow so we'll see, haha).

I so have another small suv.

That no politics thing, I think a moderator or admin put that there (and deleted some comments I just scrolled over).

I found the registration crumpled on the backseat floor. I actually have not claimed on insurance yet. The glass is automatically covered fully.

Thatā€™s good to know. We had a scare a few years back hearing peoples cars getting broken into and then the garage door openers taken and addresses found and later they broke into the house.

At least it wasn't a soft top and they slashed in that way. That really sucks.
