First I've heard of pre-approval...?
Login to your Ford account and look at your reservation. There's likely a pre-approval certificate there.

That's what we're asking from our customers. If that customer ends up not purchasing the vehicle and it ends up being because of credit, we now have a reason for Ford when Ford asks for one. These Orders need to be at minimum an 80% match or we as dealers lose allocation.

For instance, we just had an order come in for a customer on a truck they had put together with another sales guy a couple months ago. Come time to purchase and the guy almost doesn't get approved.

Any customer wanting to put an order in for any other type of vehicle We would do the same thing. We aren't treating the Bronco any differently. Being more stringent honestly. The penalty that comes with it just isn't worth it.

This sounds dumb from a dealer perspective. If I was a dealer Iā€™d want all my reservations to have shitty credit (not sayin Op has shitty credit) because they would order one, then maybe not be able to close the deal on delivery and I could sell it for a lot of $ and add ADM selling it off the lot in high demand.
Maybe they're trying to plan which 20% of customers they'll screw over by selling to someone else? šŸ˜‚

Nah.... Nothing like that. But I do have a link to apply for credit directly thru Ford.

My dealer is wanting to do that as well to ensure the people can afford to get a Bronco. That said, they are only doing it to those that don't have the Ford pre approval offer in there reservation.
How do they determine your approved and for what amount. I donā€™t remember filling out any salary info when I reserved. ....I have one in my account but I could buy 2 or 3 Broncos for their ā€œpreapprovedā€ amount

If I had to guess Ford ran a "Soft Inquiry" on person's credit.

That's what I think. Hard inquiries ding your credit, soft ones don't...

My dealer needed nothing. Even got my $100 back when I switched dealerships.
Same here, the only way I noticed was checking my monthly statement, they never said a work, just took my $1000..
