I used to work for JLR at Whitley Centre in Coventry and I knew about this program for years, in addition to owning a 90 SVX at UK home.

There are so many people I can blame for the product focus, but that's all in the past.

Sandwiching between LR and Jeep with best of both, has been a good target and will indeed pay off.

Seems Land Rover wants the imagine of tough off-roader again.

edit: think Ford will have an ad like these for the Bronco?

America needs to up their f’in game. Both commercials were badass. I want one now.....

might add, that first one is possibly the best car commercial I’ve ever seen.

I will admit it caught my attention. Didn't think of the Defender as a real competitor until I watched those.

I went to their website and the 2-door has a higher starting price

I mean, it’s still way out of my price range. But damn that impressive.

I will concede that it's a million times better than their new discovery. This thing is what the disco should have been... The new defender should have been basic, simple, affordable, easy to work on and fix. I get that it's not as profitable or within the companies direction they want to go.
There is a lot to like about this defender, impressive towing, deep water crossing, powerful engine choices, ect.. but they are targeting a different customer than past defender fans.
My personal reason I'd never get one is it simply would be to difficult and expensive to lift 6 inches and fit 37s. And it wouldn't look right.

I'm thinking based on F150/Wrangler price ranges the top of the line Bronco will be right in line with a pretty basic Defender.

I for one having English blood see these commercials and think damn  Looks like a James Bond Commercial :bandit:
My american blood says Bronco needs to be a little less classy, but have at least most of the off-road capabilities matched or close. Putting it right between the jeep and the Defender.
also, anyone who argues the Defender isn’t historically a fantastic off-road vehicle is hallucinating and too proud.

Curious as to whether you have any thoughts/insights about (I presume) the new 'first cousin'...Ineos Grenadier'?

When I saw this, my first thought was Bronco Sport (aka. Baby Bronco), as that's what I'm thinking that the Bronco Sport is going to look like.
A rebadged Defender......

I sat in one at the Philadelphia Auto show yesterday and it was a really neat vehicle, albeit can go from meh, to overpriced for me in the matter of one single option. I like the dimensions and the shape as well. One thing about it that stands out however are some cheesy materials used in the interior and the black flimsy plastic diamond Plate on the hood :/.

With as much as a Raptor Bronco is going to cost...

Defender is definitely on my short list.
