Contacted my dealer regarding my appointment on Thursday. I asked if I needed to have deposit ready. He said No...is that a bad thing? I’ve been reading about people having to do deposits, which i don’t mind doing. It would feel more official and less money I’ll need for the down payment....anyone else have this happen?

My dealer isn't requiring one either. He said he wants everyone to get their Bronco, why ask for money up front. Doesn't help you get your rig.

Granger is holding off on additional deposits until later in the process. So, you’re not alone.

Very altruistic of your dealer. What a saint.

Of course, I would be even more impressed if your dealer didn't have every incentive for you to complete your order...regardless of you accepting delivery.

Ford isn’t requiring anything additional, so it’s between you and your dealer.

I live in Olympia, WA and my dealer did not ask for anything additional when he placed my order this morning. I too have read some places are requesting an additional deposit, but I think I also read somewhere the dealers are not allowed to do this since your dealing directly with Ford.

I know it’s a dealer thing not ford which makes me even nervous that they didn’t ask for one...last thing i need is “oops we sold your Bronco to someone else” or “we messed up in ordering, buy this instead”

Me: i ordered this ___, i gave you the money, now fix it. That would make me more at ease i guess? ?‍♂ Or am i getting too paranoid?

Mine also said no deposit needed as if something fell through on my side they would be able to sell it no problem.

The dealer does have an incentive for you to complete your purchase, from what we have seen so far, it would count against them for future allocation. Wether or not that offsets the motivation to have “stock” or sell what they get for huge ADM is another question. I imagine my 4dr Badlands with Mid would bring at least $5k in ADM if it was available in the market, maybe more? The longer into the build cycle, the less value allocation has, but right now it looks like at least 18 months of customer orders only, so who knows. My dealer didn’t ask for a deposit, but Inlet them know up front I wasn’t giving them one if they wanted my order.
