According to @PREMiERdrum, last year Ford did a hostile takeover of the Webasto plant and quality still didn't improve (much). There was a rumor here last year that Ford asked Webasto to remove weight from the top (supposed GVWR issues) and that is why the top can't consistently meet quality standards.how involved are F engineers with the subcontractor that clearly did not have the expertise to build these tops?
What dealer are you using?Currently parked in the middle of the work parking lot with the sun beating down on my soft top. Glad I only work in the office a few days a week and the rest at home, with the Bronco inside the garage.
Ford will absolutely be replacing my soft top if it starts having issues though, my dealer and service guy are pretty good.
LHM in Draper. Sales guy was Doug, but he has since left the place. My current rep is Josh, and I've worked with him a few times, he's a good dude. Service rep that works with me specifically is Romero, and we also get along great. What dealer are you using?
Enjoy while you can, it’ll be falling apart soon like the other soft topsIs this a bad time and place to say..... I love my soft top?? ......Just saying. Sorry for all your heartache on the hard tops.
I haven't heard of those issues yet....crap if that's true. Thanks for the heads up.Enjoy while you can, it’ll be falling apart soon like the other soft tops
There’s a link around page 5 of this thread. Hope it’s just a few isolated incidents. Seems as if no Ford top is safe atp.I haven't heard of those issues yet....crap if that's true. Thanks for the heads up.
The pictures speak for themselves. This is a 2021 model year built after the major summer shut down last year for the Gen 1 top replacement. So this is the Gen 2 hard top and look what's happening. I took delivery in October of 2021. Had the dealership file a warranty claim this afternoon. I love my Bronco, I HOPE that this is a VERY isolated case. This is located long the seem above the lift gate, where the top meets the back panel.
Any links to this info?According to @PREMiERdrum, last year Ford did a hostile takeover of the Webasto plant and quality still didn't improve (much). Yes you have to go see the dealership so they can get one on order for you. Should speed things up.I got a letter last year that they’ll be replacing my hard top and that I should sit tight and wait for the dealership to reach out once it’s ready. I have heard shit - did you proactively request it??
The Red Green school of auto repair.Gimmie a little duct tape and styrofoam and I'm sure I could make this fit
Been bodging vehicles together since I was a teenager....
You'd be removing the whole point in owning a Bronco.Wish they'd just make a fixed roof/door version. You'd prob have half the folks option for that to not have to deal with all these issues from removable tops/doors.
