I never had a problem with birds in my Jeep, but the neighborhood outdoor cats loved it. They usually just slept in there. One time though, they destroyed a bird on my floorboards. Feathers were everywhere. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I had a black Wrangler once with no carport, and birds apparently thought the glossy black hood was a pool of water and shit all over it. I put a fake owl on a post out there, and they didn’t come around anymore.

I parked my Jeep often at a couple different jobs with no top, out in the open. It was extremely rare to have birds poop in it. I have always had seat covers on so if anything did happen they were easy to clean. My Jeeps have got rained on and I've had to drive home in a soaking wet car, but that's the only problem I have had going topless.

MGV and wash out floors? You’re good - lol.

I would just use a simple tarp if it’s an issue - At least for a little while to see if it does get covered in crap or if it’s a non-issue that you don’t need to worry about as much. A fake owl or something shines in the light (assuming there’s lights on in your carport) might scare them away. Also, you could install netting on the roof of your carport so they have no where to land/make nests.

How about a Bimini top or mesh top? It works kindof like a shade or awning. Still let’s light sunlight and air through but provides some level of shade which helps keep you from sunburning and should catch bird poop if coming from above. You should be able to leave in place with a folding soft top and maybe even with a hard top, or simply remove when not wanted.

If the birds are actually landing IN the interior of your vehicle it wouldn’t help you though.

Here's my carport...farm-style. Those eaves are like a bird hotel. It looks like a tarp or cockpit cover for me. Thanks for the actual and humorous responses.

Ah, not what I was expecting - I was thinking a standard house carport, sorry.

I still think something like some chicken wire or netting from edge to edge would prevent them from nesting up there though. I see some grocery stores do this in their entrance vestibule which is wide open to the elements and it works well.

Just another reason to get the MGV seats.

I live in a renovated 1901 farmhouse in the smallest incorporated city in Tennessee. Nothing is standard lol.

Hey, that’s cool! Maybe you can pick up a car shelter for cheap somewhere? Some have doors you can close on them to keep stuff out.

Or, we’re back to the blue tarp option :D
