Power upgrades for Bronco 2.7

Hi guys,

2.7 engine. Just seeing if anyone has built their Bronco to get SIGNIFICANT power increases? +100hp? +150hp? Tuning? Internals? Turbos?

Transmission upgrade options to handle the power?

Are your upgrades reliable?

Better to buy a built 2.7 with complete accessories kit from reputable vendor like Roush or whoever will do it for you than try yourself if want huge power.

Otherwise buy tune from companies that are integrated with Ford on racing and development programs because they have all the data.

Ford tune plus slashing weight of tires, wheels, accessories, hard tops, onboard gear is worth a lot of HP.

I have a JB4 on mine and it made a huge difference. 6 weeks ago I ran a tank of E30/93 and had the tune on map 4 and it was real snappy. Otherwise, 93 octane on map3 and it really wakes up the Bronco. Well worth it in my opinion.

JB4 makes a huge difference! And is easy to install and remove when needed. Even stacks with the Ford ECU tune.

I've been wondering about stacking the JB4 with the Procal. Do you have to run a custom map on the JB4?

Some do but some are OK with map1. The best bet is to log map0, send it in, and we can advise you from there based on how your fuel quality looks!
