If Toyota says it's a Land Cruiser, then it's a Land Cruiser.

Even in Aus, it's called a Land Cruiser Prado which is still a Land Cruiser.

The 70 series isn't even really for consumers, Aussies just adapt it for overlanding.

They need to be honest and qualify the name with badging. they delete "PRADO" for the US market to "add value" and trick people into thinking they are getting ultra premiium $100k vehicle for $50k - and then justifying the markups into $75k territory by repeating "its a Land Cruiser!!"

- its a PRADO - which is a $40k SUV.

They need honesty, correct badging, and not trying to over value a Prado

I hear ya, but a few thingsā€¦.

The trims or options are a tad different for the US market, or more fancy really, plus this LC will not be $100K, itā€™ll start at around $55K.

Where youā€™ll get hosed is by your dealership, but we know that song dealing with Bronco. That LC is basically a golden egg, so itā€™s gonna sell like crazy.

Yes, itā€™s a Prado for sure, but the 70 series wouldnā€™t sell much here and canā€™t meet safety standards. Fleet operations are used to buying Ford and Chevy, so not many sales there. Think of how many Tundra work trucks you see? Sure, you see a few Tacos, but not like the domestics.

As for the overland crowd, the 70 Series doesnā€™t look pretty enough for soft Americans and the interior is terrible, so Prado it is for this market and thatā€˜s not a bad thing.

But with no Prado badge - its a lie. and dealers will jack up the $50k price to $90k "becasue its a LAnd Cruiser" - im sure most people dont know the difference & probably think its a rebodied 300 as opposed to a US Prado

Why are you posting this in the General Bronco Topics sub-forum? Your rant has nothing to do with the Bronco. It isn't even masquerading as a discussion comparing the LC with the Bronco. There is a whole forum that you can post your rant and engage in a discussion on LC.
