Johnny, what's a "hyper liker"??? I want to make sure I never do that!
typed "miler" AlphabetCompany (google) thought it knew better.

I have a friend with a non-descript plug-in hybrid and he will drive 3 miles out of his way (I have ridden with him) just to avoid stopping at a red light or stop sign , even though he is on full battery power while doing so. He is more a hyper-lifer

I haven’t read all 9 pages, but this definitely isn’t needed on modern (say post 2000+ designs) vehicles with modern alloys and ECUs. If any sort of post engine-shutdown cooling be required, this would be programmed into the ECU along with the other ops modern cars do after you turn the engine off. For example, it’s common for the cooling pump to keep circulating coolant with some cars based on sensor data *after* the engine has been shut off.

I’m afraid the Ford sales guy is hopelessly out of date on their information.

No manufacturer worth their salt would expose themselves to warranty claims, by failing to do this ECU programming.
Bingo! That is exactly the reason the electric radiator fan continues to run long after you have left the vehicle and the warning sticker to not put any body parts in the way of the blades until it stops cycling

This was true of old turbos but modern engines continue cooling the turbos after shutoff.

At least the German OEMs do

Hey everyone!

I just found something out! We should be resting our Turbos when you park before turning off car! Not only should we warm up our cars but we should let them rest first or else the Turbos will die!

This might come as a shock but when I was reading and I read that I was immediately so worried my Turbos will be dead! I'm at 4k miles and I know I have not let the SavSqch (thats my Broncos name) rest!

I am so upset FORD never told me this and between not knowing if you put 3quarts of oil or 11 quarts in engine and now this Im so upset my Bronco may not have a life of happiness and longevity!

What do you all do for your Turbos after you drive? Do you sit and rest, then turn off? I think after reading this the only acceptable time to shut off immediately is if you have turtle head poking out and you need to hit the can. Then screw the Turbos for that one time and go poop!

Am I in the minority by not resting the Bronco?
I give it a good two three revs and on the last rev i kill it mid rev.

I had a Raptor that had twin turbos and was told by a mechanic friend of mine to let them run a few minutes to cool down the oil.

I don't think any of us are pushing these cars hard enough to warrant a cooling off period. But go off guy.
Depends. Some people are pushing theirs hard and towing loads with it. Again, I would suggest Google here.

I had an 80's Escort Turbo and remember back then to let the turbos settle down before turning off. I also have a 22" Wildtrak and always try to warm it up and let it run down before I turn it off.

Not needed if its stock. Old school thinking.

No. Auto stop start ignores it.

Keep in mind that Ford has turbos in most of their vehicles now. Including the ones driven by people who are not automotive enthusiasts. Realistically unless you're driving hard right to your front door slow driving through a neighbor hood will cool the turbos significantly from say highway speeds and temps. Going cold to WOT and WOT to off will pose a threat to longevity but regular driving is unlikely to pose much of a threat.
