Rust on Trail Site Bolts

Looking for help. Love the new Bronco but I noticed that two of my trail site bolts already show surface rust (a week old). Anybody know the part number OR a better/upgraded version that might be available? Seems a bit silly I know, but dont want the rust to drip onto the paint. Thanks.

Picked up the new Bronco Friday 3/11/2022. Noticed some rusty screws and didn’t think too much of it. Ford will replace them, right?

Well I guess according @Ford Motor Company this is “surface rust and will not be covered. The dealer knew this because another new Bronco had the same exact issue.

Pretty aggregating to fight over something that is so cheap, and obviously from a bad batch of bolts.

I had the same issues, rusted outer bolts on both sides (inner ones seemed fine) noticed the day after I brought my bronco home - 3 weeks ago.

My dealer has ordered replacements for me. I think they had to order the whole trail sight assemblies, the screws themselves weren't available. I haven't received the replacements yet, but I will keep you posted on if I have any issues with the warranty claim...

I predict that ALL the exterior Bronco bolts will develop rust unless you wax them. They are steel bolts with barely any protection that I can see...rust is inevitable.

I have the same issue on mine that I picked up on Tuesday. My plan is to prime and color match with the wheels I'm putting on.

I am going to file a claim tomorrow when I get my first inspection sticker.

The rusty bolts do not appear to have any black oxide coating. Pretty easy fix to stop this on future builds.

Saw this same condition on a brand new undelivered Bronco on the lot yesterday.

Get them powder coated
or get stainless

I don't see any rust on mine, but if I had some like in the photo above, I would use Duro Extend on them and then forget about it. I may do that anyway with mine as a preventive measure.

I guess Franklin is too far inland to blame it on salt spray from the ocean...

mine are the same ... I don't want to order an entire whole trail sight assemblies BUT I maybe forced to if I can't find bolts in the aftermarket
