Ford didn't go through that expense. Ford bought a camera module
seriously read that again. It’s GPS based on our Broncos. Good news is, when the cop asks me if I know what limit is, I can say, from what source- Waze, google maps, my built-in Nav, or my wife?

Mine will pull the correct speed limit in some areas without me ever passing a sign or update before I've gotten to the sign, and on other roads will display an incorrect or no number at all despite having passed multiple obvious signs.
Our shotgunned and/or frozen roadsigns are not a good test for this module though 😅

Yes, it absolutely reads the signs and the adaptive cruise control adjusts accordingly to your settings . For example, I set my speed limit to 5 miles over the speed limit. I'm I'm going 70 and the speed limit changes to 55, the cruise control will drive at 60 until I tap the brakes to turn off. I have this in my '21 Bronco Sport as well. It's similar to lane centering. There is a front facing camera behind the rear view mirror (if your vehicle has this system) that scans the road in front.

That's not what the shop manual says. Do you have official Ford documentation that says it is GPS based? If so, please share.

So you have the Tolerance setting in your Bronco?

The Bronco does not come with Adaptive CC with S&G and Lane Centering.

My Bronco will show speed changes without passing a sign and has never updated in a construction zone when passing a sign. The shop manual must be incorrect.

In another thread, where @Ducati1098 also mentioned the camera note from the manual, I said I live somewhat rurally and my dash often displays 25 in 35mph zones regardless of passing cameras. I then went out and counted 13 35mph signs in a row and the speed limit on my dash stayed at 25mph. Therefore, if it is camera based, it is a terrible system, but I think that regardless of what the documentation says it is actually GPS only and the data is incorrect. Wouldn't be the first time Ford documented something incorrectly - did anyone get the upgraded dash on their Badlands? ;)

And if anyone knows how to shut off the speed limit display in Forscan, please let me know - it's wrong so often on mine I'd really just rather turn it off.

If my bronco is supposed to be reading speed signs, mine is broken. I drive by 3 signs every day on a city street that clearly show 25 mph and my dash displays 35 mph which was the speed limit last month before they changed it. I thought it came from map data.

Yeah that’s my bad. I guess I just assumed it would work the way that Ford claims it does. I should probably know better lol

Still seems ridiculous to have it GPS based when every other Ford vehicle pulls it from the front camera, which every Bronco has 🤷‍♂️

Either way, I go through a bunch of construction on the way to work every morning. If it doesn’t pick up any of those signs then I’ll definitely agree that the workshop manual is just incorrect. Because there’s no reason it shouldn’t.

1. Every Ford Bronco has a front facing camera
2. Speed Sign Recognition - which displays the speed limit sign on the driver information cluster, uses the front facing camera which can be enabled in the IMPA module, it in no way shape or form utilizes GPS to determine the speed limit // This is different from any speed limit displayed on your navigation
3. Speed Sign Recognition may not show up as an option on your Bronco's menu but it can be enabled via Forscan

Source - I enabled it on my Maverick and don't a single one of your dare try and tell me that my 2.5 Sync lite can do something Sync 4 can't do.

This discussion is about included features from the factory. Others are working to get it done via FORScan.
