After missing out on a set of take off SAS coil overs I figured I would just suck it up and buy the shocks and do it myself.

I am seeing the Bilstein 5100 listed for the Non SAS and the 6100 listed for the SAS package. I would like the larger shock or the 6100 if the springs will from my stock OBX will fit on them. If not I will go with the 5100's.

Anybody know why they wouldn't fit?

Thanks
Mike

I cant remember the exact reason but 6100 series will not fit any of the non-sasquatch broncos

I thought they would fit non Sas, but I did a quick search and at least 3 suppliers listed for only Badlands or Sasquatch. Side note; I did 5100's on my non Sas Big Bend set at 1.5 front and 1.75 rear and am very happy.

Maybe the shock bodies are too big to fit inside the stock Hitachi coils?

What are you expecting for a final result? The SAS coils overs are going to give your OBX additional lift. Using your OBX non-sas springs on the 5100 will not provide any lift. IMO wait it out for SAS take-offs.
I dont think thats true, you can get up to 2" with the 5100 and stock coils with a few adjustment points on the way

The 5100 is listed as giving you anywhere from no lift to almost 3 inches on a stock Bronco. I am wanting about a 2 inch lift.

Badlands non-SAS take-offs would be another option for you...only about 3/8" less lift than SAS

You are right, I stand corrected...was looking at wrong part number.

I just edited my post...the 6100s are adjustable perch collars, the 5100s are just a shock...no adjustment without an adding a perch collar as I see it.

5100 and 6100 use clips to adjust height its same/same. 5100s are compatible with all bronco configurations. If you want 6100 shocks you need sas top hats and sas springs. Your a perfect candidate for 6112 which are 6100 shock with an aftermarket spring.

I like my 5100s with Hitachi springs. I would only move up to 6100/6112 if you are going to run a 37 inch tire. I would actually go Icon 2.5s over the 6100/6112 as they are substantially beefier that Bilstein for a few $$$ more.
