STOP delivery on some Broncos due to 10-speed auto transmission recall (build dates: 11/14/22 - 01/12/23) -- loose bolt / park pawl issue

It could happen the next time you shift to park, it also may never happen. You also may not even have an extra bolt in the transmission. Nobody knows until the recall is done.

Is disassembling the transmission required to determine whether the bolt is there or not?

Any chance it could cause damage?

I’m not sure. Since it’s still advanced notice, Ford hasn’t release what the inspection or repair will involve.

If I had to guess, I would say removing the pan and valve body will be the inspection and then go from there. I would assume damage would be rare in most cases. But until I’ve seen one, I can’t say for sure.

Does this affect any 22s? 11/7 was supposed to be the last of the 22 build weeks, but not sure if that is what actually happened (there were lots of chip and shipping holds during this time, especially for Braptors). It would make sense that is happened when the new 23MY rolled out, but then again this is across models so probably doesn't matter. Until they expand the dates I dodged it with a 1/31 build date.

Sooo... Any guesses on the "Stop Delivery" timeline? Assuming they're gonna have to tear apart the tranny on all of these before they can sell them? My 12/2 build date FINALLY arrived via rail and is en route to the dealership... Unreal, and par for the F'n course.

Larry , well I put one extra in the pan to be sure and not have any left over , you know the boss always gets [pissed for having extra parts laying around



I had a build date of 8/2/22 picked up on 9/3/22 , missed the recall
