Thinking about a Bronco

25 years of Jeep to a Bronco; better features (and they all work!), gave up stick to go with the 2.7 engine and don't regret it at all. Oh, but the squeaks and rattles ... if you thought you listened to your music loud in your Jeep, wait until you drive the Bronco on any sort of rough road - stereo to max!

The manual in the Bronco is an absolute pleasure to drive. I bought a '24 Black Diamond 2 door and love driving it so much that I found it a better drive than my manual Mustang and pretty much ignored the car until I sold it. Others have mentioned here and they're right that most of the aftermarket is geared towards the 4 doors but you still have all kinds of choices for upgrades. The doors are shit simple to take off and replace but you can't store them in the back unless the seats are dropped. Ford did provide a bag for storing the two front roof panels but I don't think it's included anymore and the bag was designed to hold both panels and store upright in the back. The 2.3 L is a good engine and has enough power to put smiles on your face. One thing though and I don't know what the Jeep cruise control was like with the manual but in the Bronco, the cruise control does not disengage when you depress the clutch. In fact when you go to downshift, say for entering a highway exit ramp and you release the clutch the truck will take off and it scared the shit out of me the first time it happened. Cruise only disengages by touching the cancel button on the steering wheel or the brakes. Every other manual vehicle I've ever driven the cruise stopped when you touched clutch or brake but like everyone is suggesting, take one out for a drive and see for yourself. I don't think you'll regret it.

I have 2 DR Base with the m/t and absolutely love it. I also have a 2021 Wrangler Sahara with the m/t that luckily, is what my wife drives, because it's a dog. The m/t in the Bronco is smoother and the turbo makes it peppier than the larger V6 in the wife's Jeep. The Bronco with the m/t is an absolute blast to drive, IMO, granted it's main use is for grocery runs and driving to work sometimes.

That's an interesting way to look at things. I love a manual and prefer it as well, but I'd likely never trade power for a stickshift unless that car was insanely fun to row through the gears with. The Bronco is not that type of vehicle. I'd much rather have the power my Wildtrak has than the stickshift.

I'm in the same boat. I love manuals, I enjoy driving them...for fun. If I ever get another musclecar I'll be looking long and hard for a manual (I miss my '68 Firebird...400 pontiac V8, 4-speed 'rock crusher' Muncie...I had a BLAST in that car). But for my daily drivers? I'm tired, boss. Tired of moving by the end of the day, so having to shift myself is just...not gonna happen so well.
