weight.........
Yup. Ford probably went to the market and asked the big companies for tires based on FORDs desired specs and Good Year came back with the best combination of price and weight (lower weight = better fuel economy they can advertise)

I can't say I like the Sas stick tires as they retain and throw rocks. But if they are the lightest tire I'll live with it as the tire/wheel combination is heavy enough as it is. Not only for fuel economy but just getting going from a stop. Lighter weight wheels and tires make a significant difference.

who ever put in the best bid to supply the tires
I'm sure Ford does not give a rats ass what brand it is using .

Ps. ask Ford
You mean like Ford forcing Goodyear to "rebrand" wranglers to Territories???

I am sure they do not care.... Now where is that sarcasm font when you need it?

Except in this case Goodyear had to make a special tire for Ford. Ford went with the Wrangler tire, but notice it says GOODYEAR twice instead of Wrangler, because they didn't want the Wrangler name on thier Bronco. Cant get those tires anywhere but a new factory build.

Cuz they are sub-par compared to so many others. It's why they are updating the tire. It's been a poor choice for wet and snowy weather for years the sasquatch tire is really good in the snow.
