Most likely it will fade depending on exposure to the elements.

It’s all going to depend on how much time it spends in the sun and the degradation is cause mostly by UVB radiation. There are additives that can slow the degradation and it will also depend on the resin being used to mold the top. From my experience with molded helmet shells, black is a tough one to get dialed in but I’m hoping Ford spent the time to perfect the formula and the molding process.

I hope to add a coat of... something (post recommendations) soon after delivery and maintain the top yearly-ish.

ETA - there may be some good info in the cosmetic upkeep forum

yes but it will match the black plastic trim, mirrors, fender flares, etc. LOL A good quality vinyl and trim cleaner and protectant will really help it last if applied a few times a year. Tooooooo many people wait until it looks shitty and then use like the back to black crap. Key is keep it black from the get go with a good quality UV blocker.

I am going to use a product called cera trim. It’s made by a company called The last coat. It has ceramic coat properties to it and is amazing. Lasts a long time per application and has UV protection in it.

I plan to Rhino Line the MIC roof, along with the majority of the rest of the black plastic on the car. Unless anyone on here can tell me a reason that would be a bad idea?

I’m going to use a product called my garage, lasts a long time and also has UV protection.

I wonder how what will happen to the white tops people are holding out for? Yellowing?

I will also be parking in a garage, some people will not have that luxury and will be looking to good products to help keep their vehicle looking good.

Weight would be the only downside, just depends on your thickness. Go with Line-X, it's a better product. Also, shop around for a place that hasn't done that particular application before, they'll usually give you a deal, a buddy of mine got color matched Line-X on his orange jeep at cost because the shop had never done one before.

Cerakote looks like a good product, buy I think any ceramic coating would help prolong the plastic top/fenders.
Excellent to see this.
Very surprised at the failure of the 303.
It's my go-to to protect my kayaks after washing them.
For sure going to look at the best product here (and quite a bit more expensive).
However, with better longevity, protection, look it is a hands-down winner.
You get what you pay for mostly in most things.

Same.
Problem is, it will only be in there at night, etc.
I work days😎 and do not have a garage at work. 😭🤬
