I have a 2022 with the open recall on the windshield bonding/adhesion.
Safelite recently replace my F150 windshield and he volunteered to check my Bronco, confirmed it wasn’t sealed at bottom (he could feel movement of glass when closing door / pressurizing cabin slightly).

When I talked to my dealer, they stated they don’t have a body shop so I would be better off going to dealer that has one.
i called the dealer that they suggested and was told by that dealer (body shop) they hadn’t heard of the windshield recall on Bronco, and hadn’t done any. They also stated their glass work is subcontracted out to glass shops.
i am a bit concerned Ford dealers seem to be clueless and I may be better off finding a glass shop who has removed and reinstalled Bronco windshields and getting reimbursed by Ford. Anyone else having similar issues? I thought there would have been a bunch replaced by now.

i was told by the Safelite tech that the windshield (sensors/camera etc) would require calibration. I assume dealer would do this after the installation, not glass company.

safelite keeps a device with them to do the calibration, they will drive your vehicle around.

Wife caught a rock or other object that cracked the windshield on our 4 month old 24 Badlands (lower center) this week. It was about a 4 inch crack yesterday and added an inch today. Safelite guy inspected this morning and since it extends to bottom edge they have to replace not repair. We will drop it at the Safelite shop Monday and they will also recalibrate there. Fortunately, we have windshield coverage with no deductible. Whew!

I put ExoShield film on my Bronco last year. I have seen a couple rocks bounce off with no damage, so it paid for itself already. When I go to replace the ExoShield, I’ll have a shop do it, it is difficult to get it on without getting crap under it.

Thanks. Im looking into it.

I haven't found any real scientific tests of the stuff yet. Just the video with a guy slingshot-shooting steel bearings at a piece of tempered glass with Exoshield. Not a windshield. No speed control or measurement. No comparison of unprotected glass.

Since we have windshield coverage with $0 deductible, Im not sure it's worth it. Then again, if this is going to happen every X months without Exoshield, and near zero probability with Exoshield, it might be worth it.

I just waited until my Bronco got a nice big crack in the windshield before I took it in for the Windshield adhesion recall
