I did too - Rag and Ducati set me straight. But it's all computer now - just need some relatively straight roads with clean lines painted on them.
Well THAT could be a problem. 99.9999999999999% of the roads here are under construction or falling apart and poorly painted. Hmm..

I live in the mountains, and don't have a straight road for ... many miles, and yeah, paint isn't exactly pristine with lots of patchwork pot holes. It took a bit more than 10 minutes but it did finish the calibration for me eventually. I think FDRS, in the procedure, recommends a straight highway where you can just cruise for a bit - but the computer seems to be fairly forgiving on what it's actually looking for.

Caught a rock chip on the freeway on the way home, next morning found a foot long crack. Insurance company is replacing it, I am paying a supplement for OEM parts so I will be getting new OEM window shield.

Anything in particular I have to pay attention to with the replacement? I have a 2023 BD, other than the wiper sensors I don't think there is anything that needs calibration.
just replaced mine in my 2024 Badlands and safelight did it no issues. They recalibrated too. I actually drove the car during that, as the tech couldn't drive stick

USAA paid for the entire thing, no deductible.

I just had mine replaced by Safelite Auto Glass about three weeks ago...sorry yours is cracked...They did a Great job and I thought it was going to be $495.00 and it said recalibrating is extra and I was thinking it would be inexpensive...well the calibration is another $495.00. I have a $1,000 deductible cos it was all out of pocket for me. I did tell him my wipers were new so he deducted that. Expect to pay close to $1,000 depending on your deductible. I would use them again the installer was Great!!!

Two things if you have ditch/pillar lights you have to remove them before they'll install the new windshield.

Just lifted a Tremor F150 with my buddy and when we had it aligned the tech told us there's a new law that will be going into effect soon that a calibration has to be done after any lift. Not sure that's true but I usually don't do a recalibration, and everything has worked fine on the 10 plus lifts I've done so that really sucks!

I ended up going with a local shop because of the price of safelite. I did NOT get OEM glass, so I don't have the bronco label any more.. But it only cost me $566 out the door.

Had Safelite do my windshield, recalibration on the replacement Ford windshield was included--they installed at my home shop. I rode along with the tech who plugged a specialized tablet into the port. My area is hilly, and it did not calibrate as quickly as usual according to the tech. Once we got onto a level highway the tablet calibrated within a mile or so. Since then, I've had no issues with any of the systems. Interestingly, the ACC seems more consistent after recalibration. Previously I moved the ACC sensor to behind the grill...

@RagnarKon and @Ducati1098 answered this for me a while back, and I tried it out - yes, it's very easy in FDRS.

Basically fire up FDRS and start the procedure. Enter your fender heights. Leave the laptop running while you drive around for about 10 minutes. It has a progress bar, once it hits 100% you are done.
Sounds like what Safelite did for my other car.

Fortunately in CA windshield repair/replacement is 100% covered by insurance without deductible.

Really? Is that a blanket requirement? Mine are on DV8 brackets and ride off to the side, should not interfere with windshield removal but I may still pull them to be safe. Will not be at home when they do the work and my wife will not sign up for that job

I'm now on my 2nd replacement windshield from Safelite and I've never had to remove the ditch lights.
