I got ya! That’s my atn Thor 640. I didn’t shoot the deer was just to show what it looks like.
My big complaint is that Indiana won't allow thermal devices for searching for wounded/dead deer. I can understand not hunting deer with them, but many deer that are never retrieved might have been located had thermal been utilized. We CAN hunt varmints with thermal and suppressors (silencers) though.

My typhoon h drone has a thermal on it. Coolest thing ever for finding stuff at night. Not the best quality resolution wise but it works.

No idea why they wouldn’t let you use something so non invasive to locate downed animals. They just need to catch up with the times. A blood trail stays detectable for almost 2 hours on a mild night.

Finally got the thermal mono installed today. Between this and the lights should be a lot of fun. Can run it off my ipad or off the main screen. Also this allows me to run one on each side if I use both screens.

Use Case

We got a lot of property up north. 5 years ago the coyote population exploded and cleared out most of the animals or ran them off as they move property to property depending on food. Lost our whole turkey population, all the rabbits, grouse, and had a lot of fawn and deer kills.

My usual setup is just checking fields at night with my thermal scope. Which requires getting out of the truck, initializing the scope, then hoping they are still where you saw them last. Will have a thermal on each side, streaming to the main screen and iPad. If you’ve ever used thermal, it’s hard to hide from. It will show recent foot prints and scat. With this set up can just cruise the trails and see what animals were holding and how many. Running all the ss3 back lights is enough to navigate at night without light spooking them. Then the thermal is for viewing/locating. Now I’ll be able to check as I drive including off to the sides. Then I can park, get out, initialize and stalk from there.

When not looking for yotes it is relaxing to see what’s just standing there watching you go by. And hoping one day to maybe catch a glimpse of the ole Sasquatch playing peekaboo.

That is a Burris bts 50. Runs around $1100. Will report back the quality/distance/performance after I get to use it.

Very happy with N-Vision Halo X50. One of the few with American Made processor
That's a nice scope.

I am a little spoiled for choice (but not N-Vision spoiled). I have a lower end Pulsar which was a nice entry level scope and I have two ATN 640 scopes (1-10x and 4-40x) both were "refurbished" and both of them work perfectly.

I had the IR hunter mark 2 before Trijicon picked the company up. The sensor died on it and they wanted 5k to fix it. I think I’m getting the Eotech ClipIR this coming year.

Since we're talking about thermal scopes... I've wanted one for a while. There are a lot on the market of questionable quality - what are some good ones, or what features/specs do you look for?
Spend as much money as you can if you intend to actually use it. You get what you pay for. Pulsar and AGM are a good starting point. Avoid ATN.

Everyone asking OP why. Don’t they realize this is the same guy that has a bronco filled with excessive and pointless lights? It makes a UFO jealous.
