The block heater recall? W701548-S437- a $2.37 threaded plug.
The plug is a temporary repair to avoid risk of fire. You’ll get a new block heater down the road when parts are available.

This is why I’ll just deal with the noise. I’ve had the noise for 30k miles and it’s fine.

I asked my local dealer’s service department about the recall and they didn’t know of it. They then told me their transmission tech is “the best”.

I dropped mine off at Ford on December 1. Just got the call today (Jan 2) that it was ready. It was a pain in the ass.

It sat for the 1st week. I called on the Friday and asked the status. The service writer said they are just pulling it in now.

The next week I got a text saying the tech had confirmed it and they are doing the paperwork.

The next week he told me manual transmissions are hard and it will be ready next week.

Then he told me it was done but they were waiting for someone to drive it. Huh?

The 4th week He said it was done and they want to do the block heater recall since it was there. I asked if they had the parts and he said they do, it will be ready tomorrow. The next day I get the call, oops, sorry, wrong parts. I told him to overnight the correct ones and he went on about New Years and days off and blah blah. I used my Dad's voice, letting him know I was not pleased.

So I picked it up today and guess what? Much to my surprise, no noise! From the tranny. The heater core is bubbling and gurgling so I am going to have to bleed that a couple of times but overall, it was a horrible experience and I am glad it is over.

Will be interesting to see if the trans noise remains gone. The first year or so after vehicle purchase mine had no noise, now it makes noise in the winter. Hopefully your fix is permanent.

Dropping in my annual update on this thread. Going on 4 years with my bronco this march, 30k weekend warrior miles. Noise still present when coasting in gear at low speeds. No noise on cold start, most likely because my garage doesn't go below 60*F but does happen when I'm out camping in the winter.

Shifting is smoother than ever, going to change out my MT fluid with either BG synchroshift or some equivalent around 35k miles.

My experience, '23 75k miles noise ongoing, winter/summer, hot or cold its always there. Other than an annoyance its fine, I do not expect it to get worse as its been the same over all these miles. No catastrophic failures so I'm not pursuing any repairs. At some point if it were to fail I have extended warranty thru 150k miles I'll see what Ford will do. If nothing, I'll get a new trans and swap it out, at that time change out the pressure plate, clutch and throwout bearing.

Update: Noise has returned. Ford rebuilt my transmission (new synchros) under warranty almost 2 years ago. I thought the noise was gone, but today the noise returned (over 10k miles later). I'm literally 4 days past my 3 year bumper to bumper warranty, and I have little hope that they will (or can) even fix it. I do have a 10 year powertrain warranty, so I guess if it blows up maybe I'll be covered then.

I'm no service tech but I think you'll be fine, as long as you can get past the annoyance of the noise. Look at it as a battle scar, wear it proudly.

Recently picked up my Bronco from getting its 3rd transmission installed. It now has MB3R 7003 AD. Shifts much better and is super quiet so far. Hopefully I'll have better luck this time around. I'll keep you guys posted.

Also, something to note is the tech said that the old assembly had copper flakes from a failed synchro.

Parts have been updated at least once, maybe twice in the last 2 years. Bring it in and have them do it again.

In my experience, I've taken mine to 3 different dealerships and they all want no part of it. They dismiss it as normal and acceptable.

Hard to claim normal and acceptable if you show them the TSB.
If they still claim that, contact Ford directly 🤷‍♂️

I guess I’ll share my experience.
Two months ago I decided to finally let Ford take a shot at fixing. Researched a few
Dealers, found a good one and dropped it off.

Parts came quick and they were on pace to have it turned around in less than a week.

Got a call, the tech damaged a bearing during reassembly and the part was on backorder.

So they gave me full size 4 door as a loaner. 7 weeks later they call and say no progress on the part and that Ford Canada has approved a new transmission assembly. 3 days later had my Bronco back.

So far so good.

I wouldn't call any of this good but I guess anyone has their perspective. 😂
