I’m sure it’ll sell very well, and Toyota certainly knows their hybrids so I don’t anticipate any issues with that aspect. That said, unless it gets a removable roof, doors, and a manual transmission, I‘m not particularly interested.

The 4runner is going to be a good trail and overlanding rig. It is not for more extreme terrains that the Bronco and Wrangler can traverse. The sta-bar disconnect is a nice feature. The Approach and Departure angles suffered slightly from the previous version but it won't be long before there are lifts and 35s. I knew it would have the same interior and engines as the new Tacoma. The towing capacity increase to 6,000 is nice as well.

I think the new 4runner would be more of a competition for the Ford Everest than the Bronco. Still, I like the improvement Toyota made.

The TRD PRO looks ok, and interior looks awesome, but I'm guessing mid to upper 60's, so no interest for me

Overall, I really like it. But it feels like a more marginal improvement than I was expecting. While I currently like the look of Toyota's new lineup (Tundra, Tacoma, Sequoia, and now 4Runner), I think they're over-styled in the way a lot of cars are right now. I don't think they'll age too well.

I'm also a little confused about the tremendous overlap between 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and Sequoia right now. Something has to give there, right?

And does the 4Runner (in any trim) still have a 3-row option?

If I can get a TRD Off-Road Premium a couple years after launch below $45K then I'll be interested. This was commonplace just a couple years ago.

To each his own, I guess. I like the 4Runners from the 90's. Since then, no thanks. The top of the rear side window not lining up with the door windows makes it look odd to me. I know 4Runner is a competitor for Bronco, but to me, they're just different animals.

I'm lazy with a surgically repaired spine and when I see all of those angles I know it's going to be a litteral pain to wash. Even after going through a machine wash, there are going to be many places that will need to be cleaned by hand.

Have to see it in person before I decide.

Some interesting color choices were made. And that's not a bad thing. Love to see the lime or a great orange come back on the new gen as well.
Trailhunter looks to be a pretty decent setup but again, if one were to lift it anyway to fit 35's, could prove to be wasted money on the front end.
Also willing to bet the market will be quick to get rear tube bumpers and such out, which will fix at least a few degrees of departure issues.

I assume it’s only available in a four-door?
