Wow ! !Update . . new engine label . . -AB and built in '22
Thanks for sharing. I hope your trials are short and you get a 2022 engine build soon! So, how does this start? The check engine light on mine started blinking and now it just cranks. Waiting on roadside assistance now, but we just had a winter storm blow through so it will be a while.
Maybe they think it won’t do any good- not sure. But if enough reported it could potentially (notice the word potentially) force ford to acknowledge and maybe extend some fix or compromise to the affected motor date holders- such as free extended coverage, or whatever fits the bill. But if they remain unreported ford won’t give a rats poop. Thanks for sharing. I hope your trials are short and you get a 2022 engine build soon!
We really need to see more reports on this thread, as was mentioned in January there were seven failures in Houston, and we can’t know if they were RUDs and if so if they reported on this thread or to the NHTSA. 13 reports at NHTSA is certainly odd considering what we know.
Has it been confirmed that the AB revision included updated heads that are not prone to valve failure?Wow ! !
- you got rev -AB w the new head assemblies
- '22 engine build-date (Jan 20) - ebd 22020
- looks all the latest in this replacement
Ford needs to do something like this for a few thousand owners in ebd 'hot zones', and current blown engine survivors
- 'Replacement Campaign', 'Recall' - whatever they want to call it
To motivate Ford, the best way is file more NHTSA reports
- so far they only have 13 Engine Reports - at least eleven are B6g members in OP list
Definitely. It finally cranked over and just rattled incessantly.Possibly have another from a user who’s stranded in a major ice storm. But “it’s under warranty! Why worry?????”
A
Mine did the same - it did start barely, I did manage to get it out of where it was to a spot where it could be towed. That was back in January 8th....still waiting or trying to figure out options.Definitely. It finally cranked over and just rattled incessantly.
