Man, these just keep coming.

Pardon me not reading through all 275 pages, but how confident are we that these engine failures are contained mainly to the “hot zone” of Julian dates?

I have a 228 date. That’s awfully close to the hot zone. I just crossed 10K miles.
Ford Bronco 2.7L blown engine failure list . . 68 so far [Updated: December 13, 2022] PXL_20220111_040514181

I'm right in the bad zone but today I hit 10k miles and have had relatively no issues other than my Bronco being a coolant hog with no coolant leaks. To date I have added 1/2 gallon of coolant in the 10k miles.

21180 seems to be ok currently. 30k miles at the moment on mine.

So with all these blown engines, what is the average length of time (or amount of miles) logged before the engine blows?

Sounds like the dreaded 1995-2005 GM/Chevy/Buick/Pontiac 3.8 V6 Intake Manifold Coolant Leak issue that I had with my 2000 Impala.

A quick google scan show others have issues with 2.7 Coolant Loss:
F-150 2.7 slow coolant level drop
F-150 2.7 Coolant Consumption/Leak

I would start here, purchase a Combustion Leak Test Kit or have your dealer do the test. Any gasket damage or misalignment of a head or intake gasket opens a pathway for coolant to go into the combustion chamber and be burned up.

My dealer did a pressure test and it passed. The coolant is going somewhere and like those articles state it's most likely going into a valve but slow enough it isn't creating a code.
I feel like I'm back in my old car having to carry around coolant in Arizona. If it gets any worse I'll have them pull the plugs and camera. I have been documenting every time I have to add coolant so I have a case to back up my issues.

Good start, one thing to note, a standard pressure test is not the same as a Combustion Leak Test. The Combustion Leak Test uses a test chemical to check for the presence of exhaust gases in the coolant. Of course if the leak is on the intake side there will not be any exhaust gasses present.

It would be good to read up on what the F-150 2.7 people have found to be the issues with their coolant loss reports in the links I posted above.

Crap! I have the same engine build date, 21195. Almost 8K miles and no issues so far. Fingers tightly crossed!

Good to know. I will definitely do more research. Thank you

WHAT? Well that is just not right. What is the dealership saying about the coolant issue?

Post Edit, sorry I didn't read the responses before this post, but this is just not right. I would be hopping mad if I owned any new vehicle with a coolant loss. You say no visible leaks, so it must be exiting via the exhaust through a leak somewhere in the head.

Does anyone know if the replaced engine shows up on carfax reports?
I think this was asked previously and the response was that engine replacement is not included in a CarFax report. It is warranty service.

This is common in ford ecoboost engines. There is years of data with people stating the same issues.
