Yep, it's paying off for the ones that failed and the ones that are going to fail in the future but probably not going to help the resale value of our Broncos down the road especially the ones built with AA's on them.
Hopefully, Ford does the right thing and issues a fix making this whole problem go away.

In an ideal world that would most likely happen, hopefully it does all go away soon!

Huh? What's the top graph mean?
I'm having users who haven't seen a failure yet record their julian date and mileage. I made a histogram on those engine julian dates.

I think the thing I take from the small data set is that the 30 day gap in failures is likely due to a pause or reduction in engine production rather than "good parts" cycling in.

42 people have recorded their "good engines" vs. the 33 failures.

Quick, before the stat experts arrive, so that is a failure rate of 79%, right? (33/42=79%). ;) :ROFLMAO:

great article....I'd be shocked if Ford didn't follow up with MotorTrend
Ford's follow up MotorTrend:

"We are aware of the matter and are closely monitoring it. By the way you have seen our new Bronco Raptor right?!? Stay pumped!"

ahhh. I'm a #182....in the 'so far-so good' camp with only 2,300 mild miles.

But your PAUSE explanation might be spot-on. Perhaps 2.7 production was going to non-Bronco vehicles.....meaning ALL 2.7 Broncos with mid-May to mid-August engines are just circling the shitter & don't know it yet.

All we need to finally shut up all these "Math wizards" is for the admin to create a mandatory pole (I know they can do it because they did it for the scam warning)

"Have you taken delivery of a Bronco with a 2.7 l engine?"

Yes/No

Then we'll finally know 33 out of N

I just hit 1200 miles and have several trips set for spring. Imma gonna stress test this thing and see what happens around town before I take a trip deep in the mountains. I've been on it pretty hard on the highway and one thing that surprised me is how fast the oil temp comes up under hard accel.
Guessing it's those turbos! Hopefully there is a ceiling well within the acceptable range

You beat me to it! Although it would more likely be “it’s 33 out of 6 million 2.7’s produced since 2015, so that’s not very significant. Go buy a Jeep”.

Loved the Motortrend article!

Finally, we need to stress that, at the time of this writing, we're not aware of any recall or technical service bulletin (TSB) related to this issue. While we don't have any reason to doubt the reports of these passionate forum members, we can't independently verify the issue (or its cause). It's best to check with your dealer before going in for a repair that might not be needed. If Ford issues a response, we'll update this article with it once they do.

Dealer: "hello?" Customer: "Hi...My bronco is on the side of the highway and wont start. It was running fine then a big cloud of smoke shot out of it and it died...do you think a repair is needed?"

The paperwork said cylinder 5. I can call and verify which valve on Monday.
Cylinder 5 confirms suspicions but was the failure due to valve hardness out of spec or a bad valve guide?
