Ford's owners manual recommends a 5 wheel tire rotation. Yet in the owners manual they have a diagram for the 4 wheel rotation. No diagram for the 5 wheel rotation. Anyone know the rotation for 5 wheels that Ford recommends?

Yes, the TPMS positions has to be relearned and they say take it to Ford dealer....

No tpms does not have to be relearned.

Google will tell you how rotate it.

I rotated mine at 5k miles and doesn’t ride the same.

My dealer has been moving the fifth wheel to the front driver I believe. I’ll have to verify to be sure when I pick it up

On my 80's Bronco I never rotated my spare in the rotation and one day went to drive it and the spare had blown up on the carrier. The sun and UV rays had basically caused the top of the tire to decompose. Lesson learned.

As Mentioned, OEM TPMS does not need to be relearned. However, some aftermarket TPMS do. Your results may vary.

As far as rotation pattern. You can do “around the world” you can do criss cross apple sauce. Personally, I measure all the tread depths, put the rubber with the most tread on the rear and the tire with the least amount goes to the spare. The remaining two, well, they go on the front. If any of the tires stay on the axle, I flip them to the opposite side.

Always retorque after a few hundred miles/kms. The steering/front might hunt until the wear sets in on the fresh rubber

Best of luck

I have aftermarket TPMS and no relearn necessary,

I have never done a 5-tire rotation as 1 tire will always be off in terms of wear. When you rotate 4 tires, the wear will be consistent

it depends on which ones you use, either way I have the tpms programming tool, I do too many wheel swaps lol

Ok... now that you've gotten that out of your system.

What do you mean it doesnt ride the same? I'm curious as well.
To speak on behalf of others, The steering/front axle might hunt until the wear sets in on the fresh rubber. The rear might feel like it’s crab walking.

Each corner has been worn in, albeit with minuscule differences, each has worn in their individual wear patterns over the last 10,000miles and each tire will be ever so slightly different. By rotating wheels we now need to wear each corner to match the alignment again because your IFS front axle tends to have more toe and camber than the solid rear axle…

For the time being, it might feel like you have less traction… it’s not paranoia, but it might go unnoticed to some.

This is what I always did on my wrangler, and what I've been doing on my Bronco.
Ford Bronco 5 wheel rotation. 5 tire
I just had this done to mine and the Service Writer looked at me like I was talking spanish when I asked him to do the "5-tire rotation". He had to specifically outline the steps. I think it's better to go through all the tires rather than have one new one that you toss when you upgrade/change tires.

The 'OCD' in me wants to have that nice clean tire on the tailgate again - lol, but if a 5-tire rotation is called for, then that's what I'll keep doing.

I just rotated in the 5th wheel yesterday. Dealership said they only do this at customer request. I also had to show him the rotation pattern I wanted them to follow (same as pic posted earlier in this thread). They also tried to tell me the 5th didn't have TPS. Good grief!
