So if the 7-speed is indeed a real thing, with a very low first gear, how would the shift pattern go. I picture it like this, daily driving would be just like a 6-speed but you could rock between “low” and “reverse” easily because they’d be across from each other. It would also be a bit hard to shift over to that side like how reverse is in most cars where you really have to force it over. What do y’all think?

I like it. Is there precedent for this type of setup?
I'd imagine the shift pattern to be more like the Vette. And the manual will suggest taking off in 2nd gear.

I would think L & R would be reversed. Easier shift from L to 1.

Well, the C7 Corvette and the 991 Porsche both had 7 speed manuals, with different shift patterns, so who knows:

My 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport has a 6-speed manual. So if 7 would be above R - like in the Vette pattern - I am fine with that. But whatever the pattern, and whatever the trim option, and whatever the engine option, I will be happy just to see the actual confirmation of the Bronco manual . :)

I'd think it'd follow the corvette pattern. like the older bronco sticks

Think we'd get a knob for the t-case or an actual stick too? Something so satisfying in everything being manual.

Hoping for the return of the “3 on the tree” myself.

Not.
But it’ll be nice to have the manual as an option still, especially with a low gear, however we’ll have to row it.

I'd like this (L & R swapped). Easier L to 1 & L to R shifts!

Also, I want a Hand Brake! For me, it's much easier to control the vehicle (1 foot on clutch, 1 foot on the gas, 1 hand on the Hand Brake & the other hand on the steering wheel).

This is just me but I’d think the shift from R-1 would be more important than from L-1. You can probably shift L-2 in most circumstances
