I think it’s going to parallel the all new 2022 Ranger choices.
agree 100% the bronco will lay the ground work for the “5th gen” ranger

I will honestly be shocked and also pissed off if the 2.3 is the only motor available at launch. Preferably we should be able to buy whatever motor they are going to offer and the possible raptor version will only be a modified version of one of the already optional motors. Dammit I want the biggest motor I can get at launch! Preferably a powerboost 3.0 or 2.7 motor with the generator...

Next-gen Ranger is getting a 2.3 PHEV so I'm sure the Bronco will also. Question is will it be available at launch.

Very true, I guess I got tired of chairs getting thrown.. those would have been my top picks, along with the 3.5 powerboost.
I know, but I don't mind chairs.

I'll say it.

I am fine without a V8, but I will not buy a 4 cylinder Bronco.

How come you won't buy a 4 cylinder bronco? You can tune them to make more than 300 horses. I am considering a 4 banger bronco

A 4 cylinder makes more noise and is working harder to put out 300 HP compared to a V6 spreading the workload over 6 cylinders. The 6 should hold up longer than the 4.

What about gas mileage? Will the 4 banger get better MPG's as compared to the v6?

yeah, so....Im not buying a bronco for mileage. my 82 has a high compression 513ci. im buying a mach 1 next year. my 71 mach 1 will be getting a 460 stroker of some size, and my 250 (that ill be selling soon) has a bigger turbo, 155cc injectors, and a few other goodies. the 1/2 tontruck that'll replace it will have at a min 400 horses before I consider it street worthy...likely a 351W or build 460...depends what I find.

but the 4runner my wife drives gets 17-22....

For most people and myself included, we want potential for more. Sure, tune a 4banger till you make 350hp. What next? Some people are fine with that but in reality thats pretty weak HP in modern times. Add some 37s, trail gear and 350hp doesn't seem so hot anymore. However, put in a bigger motor from factory that you can eventually get 500 or 600hp with mods. Also because I like a healthy sounding vehicle, this isn't a prius...
