It seems like everyone is going to get damage to the windshield at some point. But with the economic/supply situation i would rather avoid it.

Do those windshield protection films work? Is it worth the money? do they cause problems with the wipers?

I will be tempted to stay off the highway, but I know that isn't reality.

i'm adding the deflector. it's been give or take on how effective it really is, assume it helps a little.

exoshield is probably the best option.

haven't heard of anything else.

Looking at the forum it looks like some people have had success with the ARB hood deflector. Its one of the first adds I am doing to mine when I get it.

I added the hood deflector - driving 5,000 miles from MI to Seattle and back and a Semi kicked up about a 2” rock straight into the windshield. A sizeable impact chip and two inch crack is now over a foot. Waiting on parts as usual to replace.

Can’t say that anything could have prevented it. But given the amount of bugs to clean off daily if it does work Id hate to see the volume of bugs without it.

But I have had no windshield cracks in any of my last five vehicles, so coincidence? Who knows but it sucks. And so does waiting for a replacement. And yes I owned a Jeep Wrangler 2014MY and never a chip.

Avoid driving on public roads in any state where gravel is legal.

No. Upright windshields like those on the Bronco and pickup trucks simply can’t deflect rocks like the windshields of more aerodynamic vehicles. It’s physics. Stone chips are unavoidable - especially on the highway.

I got the hood deflector put on within a week of taking delivery - so in the winter - and at 4500 miles not a chip or crack to be seen so far. It's been up and back I-70 in CO multiple times and we drove from Denver to Devil's Tower without anything hitting so far. There have been a few clinks that we've heard but so far nothing bad enough to cause any damage to the windshield. Happy with it so far.

We use the Aeroskin II. Don't really know if it has helped but a couple thousand miles and no chips or breaks. Can't say it was the deflector...but maybe? Also have $50 deductible insurance on windshield replacement.

Two words, Following Distance.

I have a 2017 Ford F-250 with original glass. My wife's Explorer was bought the same day in November of 2017. She has probably replaced her's 5 times now. When I ride with her, she is too close to the car in front of her. No issues with my Bronco windshield yet...
