You can get a Raptor damn close to that(with tuning and bolt on's) maybe even down to mid 4s quick enough that in a street race tenths of a second go out the window.True guess that is why I have an STI, doubt it runs to 60 under 5 seconds nor does it top out at 160 mph.
Intentional scarcity? IF this machine is as good as some people wager, any shortage of inventory will be solely a function of demand. How many dealers are there? How many can the line pump out per day? How fast can they get to the dealers? How many people are going to be waiting with cash on day 1?1. I'm not 100% sure I'm buying one yet. Need the deets first.
2. If there's a Raptor or equivalent version, it will make the choice much easier.
3. Whether I order or buy from the lot depends 100% on availability. If each dealer gets one or two a month for the first 6 months, I'll probably just go buy something else because intentional scarcity in today's age pisses me off lol. If there is inventory slamming out everywhere and cars.com/autotrader/etc is showing them...I'll hop on a plane to wherever and go get one for a decent price.
Also...I think it's funny how people keep saying 40k.
WOULDN'T THAT BE NICE LOLOLOLOL
a fully kitted 2dr Rubi is only 45k or so.Intentional scarcity? IF this machine is as good as some people wager, any shortage of inventory will be solely a function of demand. IF they turn out to be as wildly popular as I hope they will, Ford will not be able to satisfy demand for some time - and it won't be "intentional". Ford will want to recoup their fairly significant investment sooner rather than later, so I doubt they'll be trickling them out below capacity for any reason under their own control. Supply chain, production line, quality, storage, or transportation issues would be the only reasons not to work toward balancing their books as quickly as possible.
I agree on the $40k figure illusion - I think it will match Jeep fairly closely on price point at each trim level... meaning a $50-$55k truck well outfitted.
All kinds of manufacturers do it. Though I'm really talking about other areas of goods, automotive manufacturers generally don't do it. But it exists.Intentional scarcity? 4 Door fully kitted with a diesel is well over 60k. Mid-trims are mid-50's all day. But Jeep also throws a lot of money on the hoods from time to time, so eh. Many others here could tell more accurately what they actually sell for. My Wrangler is 25 years old and cost much less than half of that new LOLa fully kitted 2dr Rubi is only 45k or so.
Darn, 40k base model? I sure hope not. Recently pricing a base JLU (4 door) stick shift and hardtop, it was low 30s. (And that in my opinion is overpriced.)And yeah, $40k is base model range. I'm expecting most of them to be around $50-55k with a selection of popular options.
My friend over there said that Ford is just not going to compete with the Sport wrangler, the Bronco “‘66 Edition” (rumored base model) will have power locks, power windows, etc.Darn, 40k base model? Hoping Ford offers lower cost base models like Jeep. Then to pad their bottom line, offer lots of options for the big spenders wanting the enhancments and trinkets.
That's what I'm hoping for too. And a Rubi should be well under 50k. Maybe it's dealer markups? I'm thinking a well optioned Bronco will come in right at 40k based on fully loaded Ranger price, well equipped Wrangler and well equipped Explorer.Rumor is the base will be expensive than wrangle but the optioned versions will be cheaper. Good news for me I’m loading that sucker up
