Very well could be.So that makes me wonder if the updated tune is actually looking at the production date of the vehicle to determine if A.S.S. disable is allowed. My base Sas is an early 2023 (Jan or Feb) build and the Procal is disabling the A.S.S. so I'm not complaining. But there has to be some rule or reason to why some trucks don't work (I get the 2024 not working but 2023 seems to be a mix).
It definitely looks at the VIN to pull the correct tune file - and the VIN knows the build date and MY. There's not been much data to see if there is a distinction between Step 1 and Step 2 MY23 builds, so you may be on to something.
I have a Dec 22 build date MY23 - but I'm not updating my tune file and risking losing ASS/Rev Matching until I can either roll it back or get some assurance that it won't be disabled - that was more than half the reason I bought it in the first place.
