Rich. He's a really cool guy and great to talk to but he just can't seem to give me the info that a lot of other people are getting from their dealerships
Hows your experience with them so far? I cant seem to get a straight answer out of them on anything.

Well this is my first new car/dealership buying experience so I'm not sure what normal looks like but I will say that there has been some annoying lack of knowledge about the new Broncos and the reservation/ordering process in general. I end up telling them more stuff that they didn't know. They seem to try to act like they know stuff but it's never really anything useful. Just the basic stuff. That could be a Ford communication problem though. I did get suspicious enough of my salesman that I ended up finding a way around him which is why I now just talk to Rich (inventory manager) about everything.

Salesman told me I was #48 in line a while back when we were still able to switch dealers which made me suspicious because how was he able to tell me that but doesn't know about most other things. That made me think it was just a lie to keep me from switching. Rich just told me I was #200 something out of their 400+ so that #48 must've been a lie... idk

I also haven't gotten any communication from them since I reserved. I've had to reach out for everything. The ordering process was a bit weird with the salesman so ended up just meeting with Rich in person and we got my order in. He's also edited my order over the phone and sent me a pdf of my build in the WBDO system. Like I said, he's really cool just wish he knew how to tell me my place in line.

Overall, I wish they were less vague about everything and more communicative. I also wish they were just more passionate about the new Broncos like some of the other dealerships are.

I definitely feel that. Whenever I go over there to the dealership, everyone is always so relaxed and just slow moving. I feel like they have the time and energy to care more about their biggest vehicle release in a long time but 🤷‍♂️

They do seem to care a lot more about just selling stuff on the spot and since the broncos aren't on their lot yet, they seem to just not care. I wish they would be more like Granger and other dealerships that are on here actively.

Yeah man anytime I need something I get treated differently when I am physically there. I dont get it man. If I was a "bronco specialist" I would be like @Zach@Granger and would spent my day looking at kick ass bronco videos and on the forums and just learning everything I can about a vehicle. When I can go into a dealership and know more about the product than the dude trying to sell it to me, its like "wtf is your problem"?

...yeah... the guy who keeps telling me the lack of inventory is giving him PTSD. I really feel like chapman just hates this entire process and their response is to not play ball which is their way to give Ford the middle finger but all its doing is pissing off their customers (like you and me).

I think most salespeople are instant gratification people. If a sale won't happen for 18 months they aren't going to put in effort towards it until a month before.

Like hey I get it you guys are more concerned with the money you will make today as opposed to 3-4 months from now but guess what, I wont even step foot inside your dealership again...

I think most salespeople are instant gratification people. If a sale won't happen for 18 months they aren't going to put in effort towards it until a month before.
I got 36 months until I retire from the army, if you need an enthusiastic guy who is passionate about vehicles and loves sharing that with customers Id love to go to work with someone like you and your dealership. I really feel like you guys are setting the standard for vehicle sales in a virtual market. Keep doing what you're doing. I hope other dealers are taking notes.

Just called Chapman. According to them they can not look anything up and the only way to find out literally anything is by waiting for the email from ford (bullshit). They confirmed everything in the post above was accurate but thats all they would provide me. I told them I was a first 2 hour reservation holder and their number 1 allocation and they told me its going to be a coin flip as to when I get mine.
I highly recommend against Chapman Ford. Unless you like getting bent over with must-purchase add-ons and savage finance managers. Go to Sanderson Ford and speak to someone in Fleet sales. They have their own office building on the south side of the dealership so you don't have to mingle with the unwashed.

They have their own office building on the south side of the dealership so you don't have to mingle with the unwashed.

I mean outside of the lack of knowledge and passion, there hasn't been anything to make me run to another dealer. Chapman is like a 5 minute drive from where I live not to mention it's too late to switch. Chapman has promised no additional cost above MSRP so hopefully that holds.

Well, they are going to try to add VIN etching and other "mandatory" items. Let them know up front you don't want that crap. Push them hard not to add items and watch the fees. The only fees you are required to pay are tax, title and license. Doc fees are a scam.

Also, go watch Kevin Hunter on YouTube. His channel will show you all the ways the stealership will try to BOHICA you and how to avoid them.
