I got them for 350 with tires. The tires had 6 miles. But then I had to buy another rim / tire for the back.Total was 500.00.One thing the rim doesnt fit on the tire carriar. You have to cut the nipples down ..,
That is good to know, do you think it’s because of the width of the tire itself?

I agree with you... but hazardous winter driving and basic, recreational four wheeling are two different animals. 🐴🐮

Unless you're a logger, a Subaru on Michelins will get you to work safely in January. ❄👍
Perhaps coming from different parts of the Country we have different views of what four wheeling is, I along with thousands of others here spend the winter on the lakes ice fishing. I consider having at least three wheels spinning far more important than adding an 1/2" of tire height, and I can't recall the last time I've seen a winch on a truck. I would never consider a Base with open diffs other than a summer driver. I would imagine in Tacoma a Vette with a drop kit on slicks would get you to work in January.;)

the rims are 18 x 8.5 and the tires are 60 series so maybe just the tires..Also ford offers these rims for 1200 as an option for the bronco. So there kind of oem /not...

Thanks. You're right. I've never been blessed to live someplace I'd need a snowblower... and I'm pretty ok with that... but as a military retiree, I've lived all across this country - and others - and driven lots of 4x4s - in military and civilian trim - in all kinds of challenging and sketchy conditions. I have an opinion.

I only disagree with your take on open diffs and the number of wheels that would spin... but that's not something I'm going to bring rulers into the latrine over.

... and in Tacoma in January, I could get to work on a Vespa (in Goretex) - but I don't. 😉

Cheers!

PS. The 27x15 Hoosier drag slicks in my garage are going on the 64 Comet I'm building - 289/4 spd, 4.11 posi (that I am at least smart enough not to drive in Tacoma winters). Hate to disappoint you on the Vette visual.

If this two door Bronco was strictly for my use, it would have been a Sasquatch base with the aux switches, 2.3 auto. Best bang for the buck by far.

My build with HD bumper - maybe as little as 50 2021 spec'd this way.

Looking at your ride confirms I made the right build choice. Its almost identical to yours:
2.7L basesquatch, MIC, aux switches, hd bumper with brush guard, and roof rails.
Hot Pepper Red.

Can't wait!

We love ours! Started off as a Base Stripper (plus AUX switches only). We've since added a 3" ICON lift and 35" Nitto's on ICON Rebound PRO wheels. We're old school Bronco fans and we love how true to the original this one is. Mostly we love how highly capable it is off-road, even as a non-Sasquatch model with no lockers or other fancy equipment. We've been documenting our experience with it on our YouTube channel, where we've been seriously putting it to the test both on-road and off. We're creeping up on 10,000 miles and we still love it.

Steffie & Dusty,

It makes me smile to see the difficulty of the obstacles you guys dare to take on in a base 2.3/7MT... (with only the occasional wince or two at the workout your clutch gets in the process :). Very pure.

What brand of 35s are you running on Chanel? They seem to hold up to the abuse they get really well. 👍👍

@iwantabasebronco I used Stickerfab. Small business great product.
Stickerfab.com

I might have added a few more that I haven’t taken pictures of. They are also adding more to their product list!
Thanks for the info. I emailed stickerfab yesterday to ask if they make glow-in-the-dark letters. The customer service rep said no, but it sounded like a good idea and she would pass it along to new products. Fingers crossed 🤞 😜

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback :) The tires are Nitto Trail Grapplers 35X12.50-17. ButI did run a set of borrowed Sasquatch Goodyears for one of our videos.

I thought your break-down of the Sasquatch package and what you get or give up, in Post 67, was spot on, with one small exception, where you said Base-non-Squatchers would need to shell out for 4.7 gears to effectively run 35's. That's not quite true for those of us with the manual transmission, as we have 4.46 gears, and the Crawl gear gets us even deeper.

But I agree with you, Sasquatch is a downright bargain, and I highly recommend it even though I didn't shell out for it myself. I'm sort of an anomaly, I actually wanted to get the least capable Bronco, and find out just how capable or un-capable it was. And we've been surprised with our findings so far.

But the level of abuse we put ours through isn't really sustainable over the long term. If your goal is to routinely go through trails like some of the harder ones we've attempted with ours, you really should do it with a better equipped Bronco. We say as much in our videos. Lockers would make things MUCH easier. We just wanted to prove that not having them doesn't necessarily render everything impossible.

Wow. Great to hear that you've had no gearing issues by adding the 35s. It sounds like the transmission itself was geared to be able to handle that. Just one more example that Ford actually did their homework engineering it.

Got to drive a 2.7 SAS 2dr at the Bronco Experience they did out here in the Olympics. Pretty confident I'll never have to upgrade the running gear they put together on my Basesquatch (besides a tire upgrade when they wear out). Now if Ford would only get around to building it. 🙄

It's pretty obvious you guys relish the challenge. Total respect. Great videos - keep 'em coming!

This has been a great post with great comments! Like many others I have been super happy with my choice of Base and have not regretted it for one second. I am somebody who likes wrenching and researching mods, so that for me is part of the appeal.

There is ONE thing though that I miss on the Base and really wish it had: the advanced transfer case. My other daily is a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and it has a mechanical equivalent of the Bronco electronic xfer case, and that is a really nice thing to have. On two occasions now, when driving around a sharp corner on a lightly rain slicked road (and admittedly driving a little too aggressively for the conditions) the rear end got loose in a very OH SH** moment, both of which I recovered by counter steering and letting off gas. But those two moments have really made me appreciate my Jeep GC system and wishing I had that on my Base.

Somebody above quoted $800 for this option. If you could buy just that I would do so in a heartbeat. But of course we cannot on Base. Installing as an aftermarket upgrade also not easy I assume.

Been following your build. When I had my order in for a MY21, it was in AMB... and I had an almost identical "heritage" theme planned. Hello MY22, goodbye AMB and the only color I thought could rock the white mods right.

I was going to say the Adv 4x4 is available as a $795 option on the base... but I went to the configurator... and adding it adds the whole SAS package. I see what you mean. Sorry.
