After searching and getting lost.
Are boom mats worth it in the front and back, front only, or in the trash can?

I couldn't get them to fit, and they just seemed like more hassle then they are worth. I would suggest you use polyfill behind the 4" speakers instead. Probably wouldn't work behind the kick panel speakers, but maybe you could try some dyna mat.

Mah! That's what I feared. I'll try out a pair then when they don't work I'll use them as a parts bucket on the next project or try to return one pair...

I used them in the front and poly fill in the rear. I havent replaced the kicks yet so, not sure what I’l do there.

The Dynomat Boom mat was a tight fit and difficult to get the screws back in but I managed. Once I got them screwed down, I used an xacto knife to trim away the excess. Also, I did this when I was installing the dash mounted USB ports. I had the dash opened up and entire defrost grill removed.

Now I'm curious what speakers did you use? Did you try them with and without the boom mat? How was the fitment with the bass blockers (if you used them)?

Garbage IMO. I bought them for all 6 speakers and threw them out because the sound was worse (to my ear) with it.

I used infinity ref speakers. I did try with and without. They sound better with. Not a huge difference either way but the dash vibrations are gone and he hollow-ish sound is gone. I also used bass blockers. I cut a slit in the boom mat for the wire to pass through and only pulled the end pigtail inside leaving the bass blocker on the outside and tucked away.

Maybe I'm a simpleton but I wish there was a definitive with it or not with the boom mats. Trial and error it is

Without. You’re better off with some killmat behind the speaker and filling voids with Polly fill.

I finally have my Black Diamond four-door and I'm going to do a big stereo upgrade. I
m waiting for a couple of proposals from a shop near me for an Audison system but I found this configurator on Audison's site. I realize the speakers are different but I assume the head unit in an F150 is the same as my Bronco's: can someone confirm this? It's been years since I've installed a car stereo, but I may do this myself if I don't hear from the shop soon.

under the steering wheel for the front amp and over one of the wheel wells for the rear.

I was lazy and did what I've always done, mounted the amp to the sub box ;)
