I'm new to E85 so this is noob comment. JB4's website say 30% mix with 93 for Map 6. Does it matter if you use 30% or 50% mix with 93?

Map5: +6psi peak, suggested for 30% E85 mixtures and/or unleaded race fuel

Also, I would love to see a dyno pull with Map 6 & E85/93 mix.
The way I understand it, those octane ratings are minimum safe levels for each tune...so you want fuel that is at least that octane or higher.

Do not run any E85. The JB4 does not change enough to adjust for it. All the JB4 does is add boost. You need alot more changed to run E30 or E50. It will damage the vehicle. Those settings have to be for different vehicles.

Let me know if you decide to get rid of the one you took off, I'll buy a second one for my wife's EG. Thanks.
I am still waiting on Whipple to let me know if I can go back to stock or if I am stuck with this tune until I make Ford flash it back to stock.

You really want to change it back? Why?

While I'm new to E-85 also, I've owned many high performance turboed engine that most needed high octane fuel, so I've studied that a bit. It seems the fuel delivery system on the 21 and newer 2.7 s can support E-85, even up to 100% E-85 many claim on the F-150 forums ... I run about 50/50 mix E-85 and 97 unleaded. Every other tank. Then refuel at half full with more 94 or 97....so my octane stays high and mixes well when refueled at half full.

When combined I'm running well over 100 octane.
The 2.7 Fuel system on the trucks is almost Identical to the 5.0 trucks. You need 30% more fuel for E85 to work and if you do not have a tune that will turn it up then it will damage your engine. Since these vehicles aren't flex fuel the computer does not know to add the extra fuel to make it run safely. You're right on the octane but that isn't the whole story with E85.

Agreed that's exactly why I have the tuner.

Went to the Broken Nut in Jefferson SC on Saturday. It was a fun day in the mud. Thought I was stuck in the mud once but I ended up driving out of it after some back and forth. Here are some pics from the trip.

So now that you've taken it off-road after swapping out to 35s, was there any detectable rubbing on stock suspension?

I am surprised to report I did not rub. I was expecting to rub a couple times. However, the license plate bracket did come off.

But the tune on the tuner is not built for E30 or E50. The JB4 does not work with E30 or E50 on those vehicles. You will go lean and pop the engine.
I'm not here to argue but I don't know what tune you're looking at mine clearly says you can use both of those

”comes preloaded with custom tuning software and up to 8 maps for various fuel and modification levels”

I liked the JB4 with the SCT Burst better. The only thing that I liked better about the Whipple was the A.S.S. being turned off.
I turned that off in forescan.
