Bronco battery confusion

BAGM-48H6-760 is the service part number.
There have been no changes because of short life.

I think a guy from the old Escort line got moved to putting batteries in on the Bronco line …

As mentioned probably aux switches/model difference. My BL has the switches and larger battery in it.

I realize "that" story predates Bronco. However the issue described in F-150s has been linked to Bronco, thru MY2024. I'm not arguing with you, rather just sharing information.

That's fine but do note that per a well respected service tech above, the battery has not changed. I think a lot of the problems stem from Broncos, F150s, f250s, ect sitting in yards waiting on parts due to the shortage mess. When delivered months later, the battery may have issues.

Interesting thread, considering I'm contemplating replacing my battery after two years of living with "Low Power Mode On" statuses since new. Looks like I already had the bigger battery all along, since I had Aux switches from the factory...

I didn't remotely imply that sizing meant bad battery. It's the constant "Low Power Mode" warnings since day one of ownership that would suggest it's questionable...

Just another data point for others replacing their battery

I have a 2021 2.3L Base Bronco, no aux switches, no power inverter - turns out I had a stock H6.

My 3y warranty just expired and have been getting more deep sleep messages on my Ford Pass app, and "System Off to Save Battery" and "Please turn ignition off or start engine" messages on the display after turning the vehicle off. Most of my trips are short, but even after a long drive, my battery was at 12.14V when off, 10.05V lowest when turning engine on, and 14.53 at steady state when on. Wasn't a Dirt Mountain vehicle. When turning on accessories and revving engine, 14.3-14.4V. I decided to replace the battery, hoping this was the issue.

Relying on recs from Walmart/Costco/Amazon battery search tool and a very cursory search of bronco6g, I purchased an H7 battery, without looking at the specs of what was actually in my vehicle (my mistake).

When I went to replace the battery, I found the H7 fit, but the factory battery in my vehicle was an H6. The battery hold down was as described on page 1 of this thread with the extra side arm that prevented it from securing the H7. Additionally the felt wrap around the battery had to be opened to fit, which should have been my first indication of the size mismatch. I had to bend the metal side-arm out of the way to secure the battery hold-down.

Looking back now, this is one of the few threads I can find that even mentions some of the Broncos having H6 size batteries and the different sized hold-down. Just a heads-up for the few others who might be in the same situation when replacing their battery!

We all definitely gained some nice-to-know knowledge on the Bronco's battery specs.
