Yes, it is an exact fit.
Not only are they the exact fit, but they tie maintain the dash speaker connections to the front channel just like the factory plug.

The only difference is that the factory speakers have the connector on the outer rim of the speaker which is on the outside of the speaker mount holes. To install aftermarket speakers, you need to route the adapter leads to behind the speaker mount holes. At the base of the kick panel area is a foam panel that you can easily pass the speaker wires through to get them to your speaker. Some of the speaker adapters my have a hole to pass the wires through. And yes, you will likely need a speaker adapter to convert the 3-bolt pattern of the stock speaker to the 4-bolt pattern of most speakers.

It is on the diagram however it can be a little confusing. So to clarify, right dash speaker positive is green/blue and the left dash speaker positive is violet/gray
I'm finally getting around to doing this upgrade and trying to make sure I have everything planned out and ready to go before I dig in.

I think this is quoted wrong, can somebody confirm? Looking at the wiring diagram on page 1 of this thread, I think the following is correct:

So to clarify, LEFT dash speaker positive is green/blue and the RIGHT dash speaker positive is violet/gray

You have it correct. The 6.5" speaker connector has pins 1 jumpered to 2, and 3 jumpered to 4.

I finished upgrading the speakers in my Big Bend this past weekend and wanted to give those interested some information that may help--

My Big Bend came equipped with the standard 6-Speaker system and I simply wanted to upgrade the speakers to give the stereo a little better sound. I previously owned a 2017 Jeep JK Sahara that I used some Kicker speakers so I decided to go the same route as I liked the sound from the Kickers.

I got 2 pairs of 4in (46CSC44) and 1 pair of 6.5in (46CSC654) Kicker CS speakers. From my previous install on the Jeep, I learned that using speaker baffles was a good idea so I also purchased Boom Mat speaker baffles. For the 4in speakers, I used some Posi-Twist connectors and added a pair of 300Hz Bass Blockers for the front only.

For the 6.5in I used the Metra 82-5605 Mounting Brackets as well as the Metra 72-5602 Wiring Harness.

The speaker installation was straightforward the most time-consuming part is taking apart all the plastic trim which I am so glad some on the forum had already submitted so I was ready with all the appropriate trim removal tools and knowledge.

I have included the documentation I used to remove the trim panels and wiring diagram and well as photos of the install and of the products I used.

I hope this information will be useful for some.

EDIT:
I am adding some pigtail connector diagrams that were submitted by another user on the forum (credit to FLIP). The diagrams will show color wires and their polarity.

This is awesome and I am going to mimic everything you did on my new Bronco if I ever get it - haha. I am novice but want to do this myself. Dumb question - what is the wiring diagram for? I would expect the existing wiring harness for the old speakers to plug into the harness you wired with the new speaker? Not sure where the diagram fits in - education me on this if you could please sir.

Follow-up question: all of these upgrades worked with the factory audio head? No receiver or amp upgrades needed?

Yes exactly!
And be consistent for all 4 speakers. For me I used the larger of the two terminal posts on the speaker as the positive connection.

It does, but it also prevents sub-bass from going to the 4" driver. Likely anything below 300hz is rejected.

Installed my 402's today, and I dunno if I'm 100% happy with them. There is a certain shrillness or harshness to them...probably because of the hard reflections of the windshield...? Maybe they need to be run in a bit...
Still a big improvement over factory.
would you happen to know what hertz the polk installed bass blocker is ? mine DB402 and 652's

Got around to installing my speakers today and it certainly is a big difference over the stock (I went with the Infinity speakers everyone has been using).

The 2 main frustrations I had was
  1. the 18awg wire seemed to big for the terminals and even the openings inside the molex connectors. Got them to work but it was a PITA.
  2. This one really got me LOL. I was having a hell of a time with 2 of my pigtails connecting to the OEM connector. After staring at them long enough, I realized that some of the molex connectors had a piece on the inside that wasn't fully seated preventing the connections from completely connecting. Once I got that figured out and fixed, it was smooth saling.

For those of you who installed a subwoofer, and connected into both kick panel speakers…
How did you cleanly wire your split from the front passenger kick speaker, back over to the drivers side? Thanks ahead of time!

Were these connectors that you bought from somewhere, or made yourself? Thanks.

I happen to work for Crutchfield (Product Specialist for 16 years there), and noticed your post as I’m currently upgrading my own Bronco. Enjoyed reading your post and thorough explanation on everything you did, along with links to every last part you used. Mine is getting an overhaul with Focal speakers next week. 🤗 Just wanted to say “thanks”….. and mention that I might have shared your post with our internal team too, so hope you don’t mind.

Hey broncogal21 (Brooke)-
Thanks for sharing. Im a big Crutchfield fan and have been using you guys since my first vehicle in '94 (Chevy Cavalier). So glad you are able to use my write up as some inspiration and would love to hear/see your experiences with your own install. Perhaps you and your team will find some better options and solutions to getting some great sound from our beloved dirt pony. Take care--

I am looking at replacing the stock speakers with these below. Anyone have any experience with these? These 2 fit all 4 corners.
