There was another that went through all the types of AWD, but I couldn’t find it on the forums here or on his page in the few minutes I spent on it. My guess is the solenoid is used to engage or disengage the transfer case which then determines if your front driveshaft is in use. How that’s integrated into the axles isn’t clear to me. Someone who has taken one apart can probably help more.That’s helpful stuff! I’ll watch these. If they’re referring to an electrically driven pin that may help connect the dots on how we got from a computer glitch last week to replacing the front axle this week.
