Thanks for posting this. It will help people like me totally stay away from the Rubicon. I like to drive off road, but don't like scraping things up. I've been to the Loon Lake end of it on a motorcycle, but didn't go in more than about 100 yards, since I was alone and it was late in the season.

Glad that you made it through.

What really scares me are those damn grocery carts at the supermarket.

So what was the IFS disadvantage? Anything really that more challenging than a SFA?

What concerns me is that you had a 7" lift with 37... How are the rest of us with stock Sas or BL going to do it? :)

Short answer is IFS has limited Flex/droop. Not recommend taking any stock bronco threw Rubicon

Well that's unfortunate because I really plan to. But I'll have full skids, which, and rock rails so I guess we'll see.

So this is the trail jeep names it’s product after that I thought I remember years ago Jeep (or someone)claiming a stock rubicon can make it through this the reason for the name. Or is there an easier by pass?

ps awesome pictures!!

so jeep just announced an EV Recon they claim this can cross the Rubicon trail your lifted on 37’s and said it was tough and expect some scrapes. This thing would have to be destroyed unless they are taking all bypasses.

Ford Bronco Broncos on the Rubicon Trail in NorCal A8D0C1D4-5EDB-4ACA-A415-CB6BAF724FCC

“The all-new, all-electric Jeep Recon has the capability to cross the mighty Rubicon Trail, one of the most challenging off-road trails in the U.S., and reach the end of the trail with enough range to drive back to town and recharge,” said Meunier.

Huh, seems I’ve seen a few reports and videos showing stock Sasquatch Broncos making it through with minimal, if any, damage. I did the trail twice in the 80’s with my brother and the Bronco club he was in. All 1960’s to mid-1970’s Broncos, most with 33” or less tires, some with lifts while some were on stock suspension. There was definitely some metal left on the trail but everyone made it through both trips. We were fueled on Budlight, Gallo salami, cheese and crackers back then so maybe that’s why we all made it out alive :ROFLMAO:

You will be able to get a stock sasquatch through, it's all about taking the right line! You just can't do all the hero obstacles.

Yeah I'm not looking to challenge my rig alot...I just want to go to places that typical people can't go. Love watching people take the hard line, don't have much interest in doing it myself ;)

The trail changes every year and has become more challenging year after year due to the number of vehicles going over it. Haven't heard of any new Broncos challenging the Fordyce trail yet. Went over that last week with my son and grand daughter and that's extreme! Suspension droop is definitely an advantage that the Bronco lacks. Armor up and pick your lines carefully.

Thank you ! I dont know why people thinking its fine to take a stock sasquatch bronco into the rubicon its just to low with 35 inch tires and no lift - to each there own !

The Fordyce trail is next on our list and understand the difficulty and making even more modifications to go the full distance.

Looked like a Awesome trip. Glad to see a few more new Broncos on the trail. Both trips in my Badlands I did this year where on 35 inch tires with 1 inch lift zero issues but it definitely works out the skid plates. Is not for everyone but after a few hundred trips is just a Sunday drive.
