After we replaced the entire exhaust system, we also had the Catclamp attached for protection and never had an issue afterwards.

Does anyone know if this will fit under the bronco?

Or if the cat on 2.3 is accessible to thieves?

The thieves have gotten to be more brazen now. When the cat was stolen off our Element, the easiest cars to get the cat off were the Element and Toyota Sequoia. No other cars appeared to be targeted back then. It has now changed and they now carry jacks to lift up other cars for the thievery process.

Put a sign in your catalytic converter sayin: "
Hey Thief! Just send me your Zelle/Venmo/Paypal account and I will pay you for what its worth!"

Hey, so. Here in San Francisco, catalytic converter theft is crazy high. My friend's Honda Element has had it stolen three times this year.

My issue is, given the height of the new Bronco, I feel like it'd be easy to slip under and steal parts. (Not to mention the fact these things are going to be adult Lego kits and can come apart easily if they know what they're doing.)

Has anyone ever had this happen? Any thoughts on how to prevent it? (Yes, I know to keep in the garage... But these things are meant to be driven. So try to keep the obvious ball-busting to a minimum.)

Thanks for any advice. Apologies if this is a stupid question.
Your profile says your Bronco is a First Edition.

If I'm not mistaken, that means it has full bash plates. Those ought to be a significant obstacle to any criminal filth that might be after your catalytic converters.

According to California catalytic converters are known to cause cancer like everything else according to prop65. So maybe the assclown stealing it will cause their own demise.

And even though a new car does not need to be smogged for the first several years, it is every 2 years after that. In addition many times a cat delete also requires some sort of O2 sensor trickery.
The O2 sensor trickery is very easy.

Just google “MIL eliminator”. A simple device that connects to the O2 sensor harness, and simulates readings from a good post-cat O2 sensor.

All that aside, if full-belly skid plates are available at purchase, I'm going to get them. If not, the aftermarket should have them soon enough from the offroad-heavy companies.
If you have a First Edition, then you already have the plates.

Hardox is hell to cut with anything but a torch, I'm thinking about making a shield out of it for my V10. Those cats are worth over a grand I've heard.

It doesn't do a true full-cover. I'll crawl under there and take a photo tomorrow.

I think the solution is more along the lines of what Maine is doing--if you go to a junk yard to sell a cat without the vehicle you need to provide your name and vin of the vehicle it was removed from--as well the junk yards need to keep records for all cat purchases.
