So I'm switching jobs from a commute of about 15 minutes and 7 miles to over an hour and over 50 miles (all one way, so double for a day's worth of driving).

What is something you've done to make it a littler more tolerable and more comfortable?

Washers under the front seat helped a good bit. It took me a long time to get the seat dialed in exactly how I wanted it - I find I sit much higher than I have in other vehicles in the past.

Good seat covers helped a lot.

A good sounding upgrade on the radio.

And going from the soft top to a hard top helped with the noise by a lot. It's still not quiet by any stretch of the imagination, but I can take phone calls on the road that way, whereas with the soft top it was ... not impossible but not comfortable.

I'd never describe riding in the Bronco as comfortable - the F150 is a floating couch by comparison. I wouldn't equate it to chinese water torture or anything, but comfortable isn't a word that comes to mind. But I'd rather commute in the Bronco anyway because it's way more fun to drive.

This a great question I have wondered about on all my long commutes.

I haven't done anything because I haven't felt the the need to, however the two places I think could increase comfort would be armrest padding and seat "cushion" however that would be done.

To make it more functional I would be thinking about:
- Securing my phone while I charge and drive with out taking up cupholders.
- Having a reusable yeti or similar mug for hot or cold drinks
- I added the Mabett door handle tray
https://www.amazon.com/Mabett-Storage-Organizer-Compatible-Accessories/dp/B09WR3FM5S
- Good sunglass holder.

I will be following for others ideas.

I bought a Ford Bronco. So far it’s been a good choice.

That's the only "comfort" thing I've done. It's nice having the phone charged and accessible if needed without having to plug/unplug it every time.

What is this setup? Looks like I could use that.

The desert does it seat risers. Good radio upgrades.

Bronco is plenty comfy, I’ve done multiple 8+ hour trips in one sitting. Set the cruise and chill.

Get used to paying for gas a lot unfortunately, anything over 55-60 drops MPG like a rock.

For me personally, the MGV are awesome and VERY comfortable. I commute over an hour each way every day, and also long road trips, has been very comfortable.

But every body type is different so that's subjective.

Making it livable is key.

I use 67 Designs BroncoRail and arms, and I modified a RAM Mounts MagSafe charger to fit in the ball size that 67 Designs uses, and that makes my phone location for the daily drive perfect, and no need to plug anything in, and always charging appropriately with MagSafe. (iPhone specific advice)

I'll try to get photos right now for those curious on the setup I suppose. ✌

Well what is your issue with regards to comfort? I was working at home but now commute 25 minutes one way...I would triple that and have no issues. Granted mine is OBX with Lux with the cloth seats. I find mine very comfortable and love driving it. But I grew up commuting an hour one way in a CJ7 with worn out springs with add-a-leaves. Let us know what your issues are and maybe we can dial in the responses.

I have the base model and my ass tends to get a little sore if I'm sitting too long. I've done a lot of road trips with it and it's fine but I do have to move around a lot. The base seats are meh
