Joining the club! Small chip was hidden at the top middle of my windshield. I've already had one chip repaired last week. Had no idea on this one. 10 degree weather and hit a bump and it cracked down . Frim my view as driver it creeps just under the rear view mirror now. Thats when I saw it. I bought the package for this and now its come in handy 3 times. This will be 4 across two vehicles.

Can add full glass coverage to my policy for something like $50 a year with no deductible.

Just for those of you that think Gorilla Glass is the cure-all fix… buddy of mine with a 2 week old Rubicon 392 sent me this today - and yes he paid for the Gorilla Glass option :/

With a near vertical windshield this will be a lifetime issue. My FJ had the same problem. I was very lucky for about three years. My luck ran out and I replaced 4 in the next two years.

I'm guessing it will be an issue with the Bronco because of this. I'm on my 3rd Jeep windshield in 7 years.

I just had my windshield replaced today. It also took pretty much 6 weeks from the time I contacted my insurance company to get the thing replaced. Now I have to contact my insurance company and see what windshield coverage with a lower deductible will cost. I cracked the first one with only 350 miles on the truck (then I put 4,000 more miles on it with a cracked windshield). I don't want to paying $500 each time because I suspect I'll be going through a new one at least every 2 years.

Mine was in the same spot. Safelite could not get the window. I had to go to the dealer - they got it in 8 days. $896.

Did the dealer charge you?! I thought stress cracks was under warranty through Ford as long as it wasn’t a year?! Am I wrong?!

Yes they charged me. It is not covered by warranty.

got my window cracked last weekend. 3mo almost to the day after picking it up. Damn crap from plowed roads and all the loose aggregate. I bought the windshield coverage but honestly will probably rock the busted glass until it spreads into view or right before inspection late in 2023.

We have 3 cars and have had 3 cars since 2005. I don't think I have ever had all 3 with untracked or chipped windshields. the wife is on her 2nd windshield in her escape and it has a crack. The mustangs glass is good but it's drive time is limited and was replaced 3yrs ago. so 2 out of 3 right now.

almost 10k on mine, bunch of chips and 2 cracks finally showed up. Took the glass shop 2 days to get the glass.

At one month and 1200 miles got a multifaceted crack today from a stone thrown from a pulpwood truck on I-95.
So what’s the consensus here?…..go directly to Safelite or inquire with a dealer?
