Does Ceramic Window Tint really Work?

I'm strongly thinking about installing CLEAR CERAMIC TINT (%70 or higher) .....

- But I don't know if its all hype? does it actually work? do you actually feel cooler in the car by 10 or 20 degrees? thoughts?

My stepbrother installs it and swears by it. Specifically he has it on his truck's windshield which he says helps alot (it's clear). My brother has it and swears by it too. Nanoceramic variant? I'm skeptical, but haven't rode with them enough to tell.

Well, I think it's clear. It might have a light tint on it. I know he was telling me it's not legal in Texas but it is very hard to tell (as we looked at it).

I'm in South Eastern VA, sure it works, my car is only 150F when I get in vs 170F, makes a HUGE difference, LOL.

One thing that I do like though is I don't have the sun blaring on me when I'm driving, not sure how clear would work for that.

Yes...a million times yes. As a Texan, I swear by quality ceramic tint. When I had installed on 4 doors and windshield things were noticeably cooler and my resting arm did not feel like it was on fire during the summer.

Yes it does. I am in eastern TN, and go to FL a few times a year. It really helps keep the inside cooler. The AC cools better and stays cooler. Parking in the hot sun it keeps it from baking on the inside.

I work at a shop and that’s all we put on cars, we use Xpel products, get full coverage and you will notice a difference. Even with my soft top my Bronco stays cooler and cools down faster. For example, we do a lot of Tesla’s and the owners all state that they have had better range because the vehicle isn’t turning on to cool as much. Call around your local shops and see if any have a heat lamp display, that’s the easiest way to show the difference in basic(non ceramic) films and ceramic ones.

It definitely works bud. I’d imagine a good percentage of Arizona drivers have it, including on the windshield.

Even if a bit darker, still blocks heat very well, but only clear on the windshield of course.

Perhaps most important is to go with a high quality ceramic and have a pro install it. Formula One is one of the best, but I have 3M which is solid. I’ve had both on different cars and both work great. Costs more than regular tint, but saves you from the sun. Good ceramic also won’t interfere with signals like from a GMRS, HAM, or your cell phone.

Yes, it works well. For once it's not just hype. Now any given installer and what they are offering . . . well, as always, caveat emptor.

Absolutely it works. I’m in south Florida have it on all my vehicles. And also have 70 % on my windshields

Also, you can afford to go darker, even 50% is solid. You're in Arizona, do 50% all around

You can tint a car with anything. You will still need AC. The sun is heating the entire surface which transfers to the interior. But ceramic tint is modem tint and works well to keep the feeling of sun off of your arm on the door as you cruise along. But it’s not magic.

Ceramic tint is amazing. I've got my tint down to the legal limit in Utah, and with direct sunlight through the glass, it feels like I'm mostly in the shade.
Would recommend.

AZ here. 2 dr Rubicon with black hard top. AC really struggled on 110+ degree days. Tinted everything with ceramic and 80% on the wind screen. Game changer. Never an issue again. Was like $1200 10 years ago. Same guy quoted me LLumar ATX Ceramic for $895 on the Bronco. Getting the same stuff in IL for $615.

I hear ya, but i'm limited in my night vision so i will have to go CLEAR all around.

If you have it and you roll up your window with the sun hitting your face, you can feel it change temp. I only have 35% on my 2 door driver/Pass and it noticeable, the rear hard top has 20% ceramic over the factory privacy glass and my kids seems good with the direct sun and no vents back there lmfao

i also use the OEM bronco sun shade if parked for the day in the heat.
