Did anyone try driving at high speed with just the rear section of a 4dr hardtop on this summer? Did you leave rear window open/closed?

Good results, bad results?

65mph max, but no problems. Not a good idea to drive around with the rear window open.

The leading edge of my rear clamshell goes into a crazy oscillation above 50mph. Makes it pretty much impossible to drive on the highway with just the front and mid panels off.

Didn't do it when it was new new but does now.

No issues at all and I agree with the other posts, I wouldn't leave the back window open when driving at speed

Are people having issues driving around with the rear window open? Either with only the rear shell or full top?

Rear window flipped open was the preferred position in my hardtop JKU and never had any problems. I also drive with it open on my wife's BL without issue.

85+ on the highway many times with just the rear clamshell. No issue at all, don’t understand why it would be? Window closed.

I meant no doors, no front or middle section. I like my summer mode.

We did plenty with bar doors, no issues. Mostly took back section off as well, but when rain was in forecast put in back. Didn’t notice difference except worse visibility lol.

I wish I had a video of how aggressively mine vibrates at speed. Its really frustrating cuz I liked running with just the clamshell on, but towards the end of the summer it decided it was no longer going to cooperate.

No problems at high speeds, but I wouldn't leave the back window open.

I drove with my back window open once in my 2 door. It made a huge difference and stopped the wind buffeting. It was a very nice flow through breeze in the cabin for around town. Even though I liked it, I will not do it any more. The Bronco is so tall it barely clears my door in the garage. If I forget just once the back window is open and pull in, the open window will hit the top of the door and the damage would be catastrophic. So I have to put up with the wind buffeting. I wish you could easily remove the back window and store it in the back- I'd have it off often, more than the removeable roof panels.

Have you seen how the window strut is attached to the MIC? That is why I wouldn't drive at speed with the window open. I have already had screws fall out of the wire cover over the window, and one of the strut attachments has some play. I don't trust those will age well, personally.
