I was able to reserve a First Edition (one of the initial 3500) It was frustrating when they upped it to 7000. Now that is time to order and I'm not sure what to do because some of the things I thought I was getting aren't happening now. Here are my questions.....

1. My local dealership doesn't have a Bronco Specialist and I fear that I know more from reading this site (I barely know anything) than the sales manager will. I can't switch dealers for a variety of reasons that won't change. I'm afraid that I will order something that won't be as good as it could be and I'll be disappointed.

2. I have also heard that there are going to be 200 plus more options available. Will that happen in the next few weeks or all they all late availability?

3. Is the FE going to have any sort of badge etc. showing that is a FE?

4. They navy pier interior is just killing me. I've read on here that there may be more options becoming available. Is this true and can we get it when we order in December? I saw that "Jim Farley is listening"

5. Exterior color. I really like the cactus grey from some of the photos that I see, it looks like it may be very light green/blue. Other pictures don't seem to show the same color and I think the navy seats will look terrible with that color. So, my next choice would be area 51, I read on here about something with the MIC with the area 51 color will rust easily? That sounds foolish but is it true?

6. The MIC doesn't seem to be optimal for sure, I was really counting on white. Have there been thoughts on getting the MIC top and then painting it white or wrapping it? My thought was also just to get a soft top now and buy a white top when they become available. Now I am reading that the FE will not fit a soft top, is this true and will it continue to be true?

Not the best situation for certain. Regarding dealers, you might very well be more knowledgeable about the product than your dealer (especially if they haven't bothered to determine a specific person as a "specialist"). What might be a thought is to check with one of our "Famous Forum Dealer Connections", well, read up on them specifically. :alien: There are a few that post and help the "Bronco community" at large even if you don't patronize their stores. However, the hidden thing is the fear of "dealerships" that a few folks have and by going with some of the folks on this forum you might help alleviate that fear. There is a post, the Dealer Spreadsheet, that has dealer names/states/ADM/Deal/details about what they are offering to the consumer. You can find that in the Pricing, Reservation, Ordering section of the forum.

There are also quite a few folks that are either having their rides delivered (expensive in terms of $$) or "taking a road trip" to pick them up (expensive in time and $$$) but that way you can lessen the fear of a local dealer possibly raking you over the coals AND you will find a dealer that has spent time trying to work with Ford and also getting to know the product.

Research what you can here and ask questions. But always TRY to research first.

Welcome to the club. I too have a FE reserved with many questions. I am loyal to Ford, but they lack transparency as to what we are going to buy. Nobody can tell us exactly what the interior, primarily the seats, are going to look like. Are they solid back, adjustable head rest, or the ones with the pocket between the back seat and head rest? Also, there is no post-production picture of Navy Pier on the full-size Bronco. Is it going to be light or dark blue? I want a 2-door in Lighting blue which might go with Navy Pier? But I just don't know. I have two options, 1) Order a FE and walk away when it comes in if I don't like it; or 2) just order a maxed out Badlands and be done with it. I know it didn't answer your questions, but there are a lot of us in the void with similar questions.

Okay, so you've got a lot of questions.. I will see what I can do to help.

1. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself. :ROFLMAO: Okay, to be serious now... hopefully this site helps give you a more clear picture on what you're getting and eliminates some of that fear.

2. The 200+ options you are hearing about are accessories and these will be available through your dealer after purchase if they are not available before ordering.

3. First Edition will have a fender decal located behind the front tires. It is identical to the Badlands decal/logo except it says First Edition and is blue instead of orange.

4. You are most likely stuck with Navy Pier as this is a limited run special edition vehicle.

5. Cactus Gray is super unique and nobody that has not seen it in person really knows what it is going to look like. The general understanding is that it appears to be a "primer gray" type color most of the time until it is in the presence of a true gray or black at which times it can appear green or blue. It is a bit risky for my tastes, but hopefully we see a some Bronco Sports in this color in person at dealers prior to ordering. Also, the MIC top will not cause rust on any paint color.

6. A lot of forum members are talking about using Line-X or having a shop sand and paint the MIC top. It might be more trouble than it's worth for some, but also may work out for others. If I hate my MIC top I will be using Line-X. I didn't see that FE can't have a soft top, but it shouldn't be completely unavailable. Even if you can't order dual tops on the Build & Price, you will be able to pick up a soft top from the dealer after delivery. However, there is no soft top for two doors at this time. Hopefully aftermarket will take care of this.

The FE 4 DR and 2 DR currently comes standard with the MIC top. I don't know if Ford is even making soft tops for 2 DR's. But the soft top they make for the 4 DR should fit, but it will need to be a separate purchase from your dealer, as the factory is not going to offer a lower option on a trim that comes with a higher option. Just like you can't request the Standard package on your FE since it comes standard with the Lux package.

FE reservation holder here. Love everything about the FE except the Navy Pier interior. It reminds me of my Grandfather's 1968 Cadillac. For some reason I just can't get past that hurdle. For that sole reason, I'm switching to a loaded up Wildtrak. Cactus Gray would of been my color choice if I stayed FE, great color IMO. But now that I have multiple colors to choose from, I'm leaning heavily on Iconic Silver or Carbonized Gray.
My personal opinion, if you can get past the Navy Pier go for it.

You guys think you have questions, I have a Sport FE being built 11/26 and I still don’t have clarification on some of the FE features! I guess I’ll find out when it arrives on the dealer lot.

Navy pier, no modular Black top, and no tow hitch (4 door). What a joke.
From this forum it seems like I am in the minority since I like the Navy interior, but not with every exterior color choice. I am not a fan of the MIC top, and will exercise the option of late delivery to get the black painted top.

I didn't ready about the lack of tow hitch, but the aftermarket seems to solve most things. Is there a fundamental reason the aftermarket can't offer a tow hitch on the 4DR? Thanks.

Lack of hitch is likely the same reason you can’t get roof rack bull bar and headliner on badlands. Weight. Can’t afford the 350 pounds of tongue weight. They just optioned it differently but with close to the same weight variance being loaded.

Yes I think thats exactly whats going on. Bronco has weight issues.

As chtucker said, wiring is a concern. Factory harness integrates, the vehicle knows a trailer is connected etc. Plus aftermarket hitches sometimes look....aftermarket.

I am not in need of wiring, but realize that could be an issue for some. I simply have a Thule bike rack, used a few times a year, and would like to have at least one car with a tow hitch. I bought the wife a new 2020 Highlander Platinum, and those couldn't be ordered with a hitch either as it interfered with the tow-kick sensor for the back. A stupid feature, and one that the aftermarket figured out a work around.
