My Wildtrak is built and next in line for Modules Online. It has the standard bumper and I am planning on using the Blue Ox because it looks like it mounts a few inches lower plus I already have the draw bar.

Same for me. I got the Blue Ox set up for the standard bumper, and will be using my existing drawbar with Blue Ox adapters. The Blue Ox base mounts are hell for stout!! A lot of guys with Class A's like the high mount of the Mod bumper shackles, but my Class C will work better with the lower mounted bar.

The only drawback I see is I lose the factory recovery points. I'm noodling this out.

I think any of the aftermarket base plates will require removal of the front recovery points. I did that on my Ranger with the Roadmaster, I did not want to do it with the Bronco.

I hope those of us that use the factory points on the modular bumper do not have any problems down the road.

I have a class A but the hitch was a little low for my F150 4wd,
I do a little welding and I have been thinking about fabricating some hooks that twist into the base plate slots.

I think the Blue Ox instructions state the tabs will be 19 1/2" off the ground on a non Sas OBX (should be the same for BB).

pstroke, great looking setup. I did my first test run yesterday also. Have Blue Ox tow bar, Blue Ox adapters(modified) and a Brake Buddy Stealth brake system.

Great setup grtharris,
I want to do the same setup on my blue ox towbar.
Can you send more closeup pics of blue ox adapter,
What modification were done. As well as closeup of how you attached the safety cables. I'm try to get my parts and line up an installation upon pick-up in jan.
Did you do mods or a hitch specialist.
Thanks for the help

Just to add a bit of info for those looking for brake solutions. I use the Air Force One air brake system now on my Jeep, and will move the system over to the Bronco when I get it. The Air Force One uses the air brakes on the coach to push an air cylinder mounted on the tow'd brake pedal (to the firewall). It also has a box which goes under the hood which converts air pressure to vacuum with a hose running to the vacuum brake booster. So, there is both proportional braking and power brakes. Since I don't know enough about how the electric brake booster will work when towing with the 2.7 V6, and my current system will swap right over to the Bronco, I went with the 2.3 4 cyl with a vacuum brake booster.

It would be nice to hear from you folks towing with the electric booster on the V6. How does it work and any issues. How does the battery hold up?

Thanks to those posting tow bar solutions. I have a Roadmaster tow bar and will be watching for what comes from them, but glad to see there is a way to go with the mod bumper.

Thanks for the diagram, what was the 3 inch depth measurement before your mod. Was it necessary because of the mod bumper recovery depth

Not necessary, I just wanted to do enough to make sure I had the required clearance when
rotating up and down. You can see the end of the milling in this picture. Could go all the way would not hurt anyting.

Thank you so much for the great advice. My build week is Jan 10. As I get closer, hopefully the less advice i need.😅

All my parts are in and my bronco is up on the lift... Stay tuned as I install the Rough Country hidden winch, tow brackets and the Flat tow adapters to use with my Brute Elite II tow bar. Plus, I found a light solution for towing that I'm quite proud of and will post pics of the install here.

Drew,
I'm copying your setup with the exception of using an RVI brake system. Just curious to know if there were any surprises wiring the Roadmaster 15267 kit. I downloaded the instructions in addition to the pictures Grant (grtharris) posted on page 7 of this thread. I'll post pics of my setup sometime next week once I finish the install. Thanks again for all the help!

The scariest part is removing the trim below the tail lights also a 8mm universal socket will come in handy to remove the tail light assembly.

So excited to see RV's towing Bronco's!! If I can ever get my Bronco that is our plan. We've been RV traveling for over 10 years, but we've never had a vehicle we can flat tow so we just get rentals when necessary.

I hope this isn't a dumb question...but our current RV (35' Class A) only has a towing capacity of 5000lbs. Is it possible to change out the tow hitch to get a higher towing capacity or is that the max for our RV regardless? I know my Bronco is going to weigh more than 5000lbs. We do not travel with full tanks (water, grey, black)..not sure if that makes a difference for the overall capacity.
