What demand? Isn't there only 5k'ish listed on the USOB? Where was this big idea 3 years ago when they had 100k+ unfilled orders but unless they magically fixed the commodity issues what's a 3rd shift going to do?
I was about to say the exact same thing.

Hopefully they ramp up Ranger production with this 3rd shift.

Yeah I fully expect Ford to include Ranger during their usual "Ford Truck Month" deals that they always do during late winter/early spring/late spring/early summer/late summer/early fall/late fall/early winter...
FIFY. I swear it is always "truck month" and like Bill Murrays Groundhog Day, never ends.

Ford Bronco Ford Adds Third Crew at Michigan Assembly Plant to Meet Demand For Bronco And Ranger page 12

That's the latest from the Ranger 6G site. I don't see what this high demand is with only 5k Bronco and 3k Rangers in the USOB.

I guess maybe they'll start cranking out dealer stock but I can't see the demand for the Ranger when they actually do deals on the F150 and the new Tacoma is now available.

Ah yes, I'm sure third-shift QC will be top notch.... :ROFLMAO:

Huh. So I see now you can only get a 4-door Ranger for '24, with no more 2-doors? Dumb.

Kill the base Bronco, check. Kill the 2-door Ranger, check. Knock the F150 RCSB down to only the XL trim, check. It's like Ford doesn't even want my money anymore.

Plus rates were through the roof, but I suspect Ford fiancé deals will be hitting coming Feb for ranger sales.
So you have to be engaged to Ford to get a good deal? đź’€

not me, I used a non shady dealer and a CU this last time, but the majority of the public would go that route if you ask me.

I can't imagine there are many people who want to special order a 2.3L Ranger, apparently it's approximately 5,000 people.

It seems to me that Ford should still be able to sell 100,000-120,000 Rangers just with normal inventory levels.

You're in the minority with those.

I know. And it sucks.

I'm hoping my current '19 F150 RCSB lasts forever at this point as replacement options dwindle.

The Super Cab was a good option to get a little longer bed since it still had extra room behind the front row. Blame all the car people buying trucks as daily drivers and only wanting four doors. :) Unlike an engine or transmission option, a whole separate body requires a lot of cost and unique parts.

At least Toyota hasn't lost the plot (yet), you can still get a new 2-door Taco.

They gonna pump out a bunch of 2.3L Big Bends (aka, the new base) for dealer stock and make $$$$$.
At $39k starting price, you bet they are. Highway robbery.

My local dealer(s) are loaded with Broncos considering the past. Bunch of WT. and a mix of others. Also expanding the lot as I write this. Might be for EV storage, who knows. Demand might come back if rates drop. I wouldn’t buy anything now.

there was a side note at the bottom that the contract had a retirement clause so alot of the new hires will replace some of the retirees
