Great review on YouTube by Autotrader on the 2-door Badlands non-sasquatch.

Pros
  • Great Looks, nice cabin, and cool options
  • Good on-road presence. Better than Wrangler
  • Amazing crawling ability
  • Good cabin space and storage. Better than Defender and Wrangler
Cons
  • Top is not good. Too loud/squeaky
  • Rev counter could be improved. Prefer analog over digital
  • Pricing is expensive (before ADM's)
Other comments
  • Badlands non-sasquatch comes with 33” KO2’s. Why didn’t ford equip Sasquatch model with 35” versions? Comments at 3:29 in video
  • "This is a very very good machine"

And review is of a manual 2.3 - so take that into consideration.

Rev counter? Is that a tach? Was this an old world English review?

Anyone know the weight of the wrangler territory 35” tires? Could it be the KO2 weighs more and maxes out the gvwr?

35” ko2’s look to be about 65lbs.

You're probably on to something there. Go to Sam's or Costco? and check out the different brands of equally sized tires. Goodyear's are always the lightest weight (less rubber).

There is a Youtube videa of the guy that reviews suspensions, he weighed a 315 and wheel off of sasquacth was about 85 Lbs all together, pretty light considering....

It's improper use of words. The tach isn't counting anything. It's simply displaying calculated RPM. It's the Hall Effect sensor that's doing the actual counting.

Thanks. I'm a 2-door non-SAS BL so it was great to see my flavor of Bronco at play. Also sounds like pretty much what I was expecting and hoping for.

Those tops really are the Achilles heel in an otherwise great truck. Glad he didn't mince words and simply said it's not good.

Exactly, we need a weight of a sasquatch wheel and a KO2.

Glad he doesn't need the Trail Turn assist mentioned @4:40 cause he doesn't have it on the manual Badlands being drivin.

Weight probably is the answer but I think it has more to do with MPG or suspension dynamics than GVWR. Tire weight will lower the center of gravity but the GVWR calculation is complicated and Esteban doesn't want to get into that so who knows? 😁 It might also just be a contractual thing because there are General tires on the BD so maybe they were just trying to spread the love? Or the Goodyears were $1 cheaper than the BFG tires.

The instrument cluster is a cluster, that much is certain.

Ford needs to allow the BesTop fastbacks on 2 &4 doors from the factory - no other junk Ford tops to clutter garage. Aftermarket will come up with insulation for soft top for out of top-down season.

I wish they would switch the 2 door top to a soft top. You see them at the Bronco Off-Roadeo. The price of a true off road capable Bronco starts at $38,180 (base 2 door, sas), lets see Jeep, Toyota, Land Rover...meet that!

Looks like a 315/70/17 KO2 Load C All-terrain weighs 65lbs while the Mud-terrain comes in at 75lbs. Goodyear Territory (sasquatch) tire is listed at 52lbs according to Tire Rack. That's quite a bit of savings in rotational mass
