ford perimeter plus vehicle security system question

Question. I searched and didn't see the answer.

How sensitive is the ford perimeter plus vehicle security system? Will a cat on my Bronco set it off in the middle of the night?

I wife parks under a tree and my cat often used the vehicle to climb down from the tree. Took some fussing with the sensitivity setting to get it dialed in.

Not the plus system. Its just a basic system is included in the LUX.

The setting adjuster is just a tiny knob with no indications on the unit. You just turn it and fine tune trial by error.

This. Admittedly there was a few 4am wake-ups during the trial by error period.

Maybe just start at minimum setting and work your way up slowing day by day till it alarms?

Mine works great but usually goes off in parking garages as cars with loud exhausts or Harleys rip through the garage. Not much you can do about the loud exhaust vehicles that shake everything around them. Does help give you some piece of mind and I added the flashing led light on dash.

Use too but don't anymore. Ford app seems to be hit and miss. Usually come back to unlock and it double honks letting you know it went off while gone.

So it doesn't alarm forever? That's good. I'm not always within hearing distance, such as at work.

I think it goes off for a minute or two then shuts off. I checked my ford app and it does tell me the last time it went off in my messages. Have to play with the app and see if it can actually ping or notify me better on my phone. I put the led through the front right speaker cover...I think having a flashing read light is the most valuable thing and not leaving any valuables in sight. Putting in the dash cam front and rear next week as well.

Received my Perimeter Plus KN1J-19G367-AA and there is no installation instructions. Ford accessary website doesn't have it either.

Someone have them they can share?
